My favorite part of X's intro is Elma casually telling you that you can throw yourself off a cliff without getting hurt with zero explanation as to why.

@@rigistroni Even if MC has amnesia, it's kinda like not bothering to inform that the sky is blue. It's just so intrinsic to their current way of life that it's assumed. It's also hinted at the medical bay a few times. That said, it is odd how it's talked about by npcs much more often immediately after that moment.
@@kyuugoki But then they go on and on about it. Like as soon as the MC figures out the sky was blue and not green, nobody can shut up about the blue sky. I agree that's a decent explanation, but nobody ever talks about it in a conversation until after, where they then say it all the time.

Definitely check them out. In terms of exploration X is by far the best and biggest one, but in terms of story and gameplay 3 is the best

Honestly I think all 3 do a brilliant job at opening into what kind of world this is. The battle of sword valley really conveys how outclassed the homs are without the monado, and immediately makes the mechon a giant threat. Xc3 instantly shows how the two sides fight to keep their flame clocks running, and how the world is in constant conflict because of it. I wish the world building continued to be great in 3, but unfortunately it's not. Xc2 instantly introduces the titans dieing off, however I do wish it opened with something a bit meatier tbh.

Funny how the beginning of XC1 is almost the same as Shingeki no kyojin. Shulk is dreaming under a tree, best waifu (Reyn/Mikasa) comes in and help him in a way, then childhood friend (Armin/Fiora) talks about the state of the world, then the city is attacked, the protagonist loses someone dear to them, swearing to take revenge and kill every last one of them

On the other hand, 3 goes for the full "war is hell, life is just a resource to spend and collect (quite literally at that)" tone right at the start, so yeah I still feel like this was the dev team putting their massive c*cks on the table and saying "you wanted misery and tragedy, you'll get it from the go" XD

@@CD-mb4bv I wouldn't blame anyone mixing the names. Both of them are pretty similar. I'm just glad FC is on the cart of the Definitive Edition and Torna is physical. Kinda screwed with FR though (unless they release a definitive edition of 3 in a few years, but I doubt it).
Tatsu really was the worst Nopon. Actually, now that I think about it, he's probably the worst character in all of Xenoblade. I don't remember much of X, but my headcanon for my character was that he hated Tatsu to the point of wanting him off the team but got out voted by Lin and Elma.

@@trous2388 you really should play it, it's an amazing expansion almost big enough to be its own game. The only downside is that you have a sidequest quota in order to beat the game which is lame, but the sidequests are at least pretty good

Honestly I think the Xenoblade X OST has some bangers in it, but they're just used very poorly so you only hear the same ten songs for 90% of the game. I.e. the fact the overdrive music overrides literally everything
@@rigistroni Yeah it does have a few really good songs and I did come across as a bit extreme, but overall the music score in X didn't hit me at all like Xeno 1. Many fans felt the same at the time and I kinda think they took some feedback from it, cause 2 and 3 are more in-line with original game :-)
