I only skate shoes with midsoles, and I often add a footprint insole to add even more protection. I'm slightly overweight, and I jumped off an seven feet drop wearing the shoes and could hardly feel it. Try that in a pair of vans with no midsole and you'll feel it for days. People's obsession with "board-feel" makes them not focus at all on feet protection , and they get as thin of shoes as possible and the skaters who wear thin shoes and do bigger stairs often get joint problems and all sorts of issues.

i remember in 8th grade pulling up to the skatepark hyped rocking these, and the best skater i knew immediately hit me with "isn't it hard to skate in those moon boots??" then i somehow landed my first tre flip ever that day in front of him and slightly redeemed myself 😂

New balance x tiagon lemos 1010's and 808's are my go to. Multi-functional shoes, look sick asf, durable as hell, and can take impact. The 808's especially because they were made for taking impact

The funny thing is my dad would often buy two pairs, one for me and one for him, because they were that comfortable and he never skated in his life. Just imagine a 40 something man walking around with Osiris D3s lol.

What's sad is those Nike Janoski's have slightly more impact protection than the average skate shoe right now.

You have to get the Accel OG if you want good impact protection; those have a midsole. The Accel slims have a good insole, but a good insole is nowhere as good as having a midsole inside the middle of the sole.

Idk man... They seem a half-size too big for me since I wear size 12 normally but I should had gone down to size 11 1/2 for my case on the D3 2001 reissue.

No, they are pretty shoes that are same price as the ballerina flats, look for world industries Smith Bones 100% loved them and they're like 30$ or so
