    Lisbon is a lovely port, we had proper Pastel de Nata (sorry Lidl) but the best thing is the bridge on the way out. We were on the Celebrity Equinox and there must have only been 20 foot between the ship and the bridge!Breath taking. Queen Mary looks lovely and I’m sure they’ll iron out the bumps

    Another wonderful and entertaining video as always ! Thank You so much for sharing !! Sorry Paul , Carole definitely won the Pickle Ball tournament ! Got to call them as I see them !😂 I’m sailing on Queen Anne’s Transatlantic maiden voyage in January 2025 , so I’m learning so much in advance from your videos that will enhance my voyage! So thanks once again ❤️👍 !! I usually try all the specialty dining when onboard, but because of your videos, I’m probably only going to try the japanese restaurant. As far as the ship goes•••#1 love the exterior of the ship ! She’s Majestic and beautifully Sleek. The pools and Lounges and Sky Bar are gorgeous! #2 The Commodore Club, Britannia Dining Room, Spa, Grills Lounge and Artisans Food Hall are very nice ! But •••• the other areas are VERY disappointing! Too Modern, Too Contemporary and just unwelcoming and Blah 👎👎👎👎 No Cunard vibes. Looks like any hotel venue on shore ?!?! But my biggest negative opinion is for the UGLY UGLY QUEENS ROOM and the Promenade Deck ( too narrow, no deck chairs and no ocean views!!) Big Mistake Cunard !!! and PS •• the naming ceremony in Liverpool was a terrible joke !! Just a WOKE MISJUDGEMENT !!! No member of the Royal Family to Officially christen and name the ship ??? Come On Cunard !🤷‍♂️😮😢🙄😒👎Obviously Cunard wanted the naming ceremony to be as UNTRADITIONAL and DISAPPOINTING as the ship’s interiors !!!! Anyway Love you Paul and Carole ! Can hardly wait for your final QA video and your official opinion of QA !! 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇸 MikeW.

    I really like the look of this new Cunard ship! There are some beautiful areas throughout. It seems a little bit of a new direction almost for them, so maybe by the second season, when all of the feedback is in, they will have tweaked/improved and refurbed all of the initial problems.

    Great video! On the topic of the promenade, I've got such mixed feelings - I get that it's not as picturesque as what you'll find on other ships, but I loved this feature on HAL Rotterdam as it was always nice and quiet, and used primarily for people to exercise, rather than lie down and make it difficult for a walked to go past. I'll be intrigued to see if they do any more like this - I don't see them changing anything here based on feedback - the space simply isn't wide enough!

    • @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel

    I love your objective and down-to-earth style in these videos. I do feel it's a big mistake to compare Queen Anne with QM2 - they are, in every sense, oceans apart in class, style and service. QM2 is the world's sole ( and probably last) great transatlantic liner. Queen Anne is comparable to P&O; a petri dish on water, and completely underwhelming in design, fitment, and now, it appears, service delivery, her maiden voyage notwithstanding. As for the abysmal dining experiences ... no words. Thanks for convincing me to never go on another cruise in my life.

    • @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel
      @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel  Před 23 dny +1

      Thanks! In terms of build yes QM2 is very different but the Cunard service that we have got to know and love is evident across all 3 queens. Hopefully all the service issues on the maiden voyage should be improving by now. LOL you should try it you might be pleasantly surprised! 😂

    I agree with your views of the promenade deck - inadequate views. After your review of Aranya restaurant I shan't be eating there on my cruise with Queen Anne next year - spices of India - my foot! Also, If I asked for pork or beef at my local Indian restaurants/takeaways I would be shown the door. Super video - lots of great images of Lisbon and the ship. The top decks look fab. I had two immediate answers that came to mind fot the unbuilt London bridge question - Boris's Garden Bridge and the Thames Gateway Bridge but I have just googled and it might be the glass Pilkington The Crystal Span Bridge. As a born and bred Londoner I am interested to know what answer the quizmaster wanted as there could be many? Looking forward to your next blog of the ship.

Just because you are able to walk continuously around the deck does not make it a Promenade Deck, for that title to be justified you need to be able to Promenade, which you can’t! With regards the Queen’s Room, in the comments on another channel the very excellent Swiss dancing couple who live to dance on Cunard (anyone who has cruised on Cunard will know these 2 extraordinary dancers) have said that the Queen’s Room Dance Floor and the Music for dancing was a terrible disappointment on the Maiden, and they certainly know what they are talking about.

    I’ve just got off after a 14 day cruise around the British Isles. I don’t have a lot of good things to say. The naming ceremony was an absolute shemozzle. I caught something nasty on board, the coughing in all areas was horrendous. I will give a more detailed report when I get back to Australia.

      I still wear a mask when amongst a lot of people. Folk forget that Covid will always be with us now, just like Influenza, measles, colds and Pneumonia. So take care, don’t touch things that others have without washing hands after, be safe. Thx

    I'm sorry, but I get a little confused when you talk about spice and food. In one breath, you declare that your food is favorable, but then you say it has no spice. The function of a spice is to impart flavor. Perhaps you are referring to "heat" as in "spicy hot." Not all spices add that sense of heat or burning sensation to food. Many spices are quite sweet tasting. If you're looking for a hot taste, then let your waiter know so that you're not disappointed. Remember, they are preparing food for general consumption. Therefore, they would likely use mild spices, imparting flavor, but avoiding heat.

      Totally understand that not everyone wants heat but some of the food was flavoursome but not all, some was flavourless which was disappointing. We want to come out of a restaurant with our tastebuds having had a treat but sadly this didn't happen in Aranya.

    Firstly, Aranya. Flavoursome but not spicy? Do you mean it's tasty but it doesn't inflict pain on your lips, tongue, back of throat, and cause you to break out in sweat? Because if so then that sounds like just what we've been after in an Asian restaurant for years. Secondly, that promenade deck is pretty poor, but at least you walked around it in the right direction. I mean, we're contrarians by nature, as you know, but you always walk around with the sea on your right. That's maritime law.
    Food issues aside, based on your videos (well, we're not looking at anyone else's, after all), Queen Anne looks like the first Cunard ship that interests us a little. I wouldn't say there's an imminent booking, but she might actually move Cunard into the consideration list for future plans.

      @PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel  Před 22 dny

      LOL it wasn't as flavoursome or spicy for us but for your different palate it may suit! We always try and stick to the law 😂 Queen Anne has a lot to offer and definitely for those new to Cunard so definitely would be worth a try!
