  • Wow!! Point Cartwright really treated me well on this overcast day! I guess the bad weather kept a lot of people at home on this Saturday morning; because I was the only one finding all the goodies in that big microshell shell pile. Lucky me!! I love those Carrier Shells, Wentletraps, and the Shuttle, but my favourite of all was that glossy Eglantina Cowrie.
    Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

    I didn't even realise that Point Cartwright and the surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admire him a lot; he's a wonderful local shell! You can check out his amazing shelling videos here:

    Thank you Maddie. What beautiful shells today. The limpets, the crown shell, the sundial, the carrier shell and all the others are very beautiful. Thank you for a great day of shelling. I needed that after the week and weekend I have had. Have a great day Maddie and very thankful for the video.

      G’day Toni 💖 Thank you for coming by to watch the adventure, I’m so pleased that you liked the shells as much as I did. I’m glad that they could take your mind off of life for a few minutes; from what I’m guessing, you’ve had a very hard week/end 😔 I’m so sorry, Toni. I was thinking about you all yesterday, I can only send my heartfelt well-wishes across the world to you ❤️❤️❤️

    G'day Maddie! Awesome finds this time! It sure is worth the effort of checking out the shell piles and wrack lines 👍If I were there, I'd bring a small stool (I have bad knees)a snack or two and feel like a "kid in a candy store " ,digging through the bits and shells looking for marine treasures🐚 .Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us they give me my daily dose of "beachy goodness " 🤩🐚.
    Take care Maddie and look forward to your next adventure 👍P.S. enjoyed the unboxing video, Wow! what a generous gift, nice lady!

      G’day Lenora 👋🏻❤️ Hehe, I’m glad you enjoyed the shell finds as much as I did! It’s easier to check the wrack lines and shell piles than areas further out, but it sure it fun to wade through the water and slipper rocks to maybe find something bigger too! Yesss a stool would be a good idea (sorry to hear about your knees) I bet you’d feel like a kid again! I must say, you can easily lose time while microshelling; I must have spent over 2 hours looking at the piles, but it only felt like 30 minutes 🤣 Thank you for joining me for all the beach goodness 🥰 Oh yes!; thank you for watching the unboxing video 🤩 I was absolutely blown away by the generosity. I’m glad you enjoyed that one as well 💖

      G’day Pam 👋🏻❤️ I KNOW RIGHT? I got a tonne of good shells this time!! 🤩 Hehe Pam, is your favourite colour pink? I’m only half sure that it’s called a Cavanaughs Cowrie, it was a really tough one to identify! It’s lovely though, I’ve seen a few friends find them, but a first for me. I’m sure I will find more on the wrack lines now that I’ve trained my eyes for them 🤣 Hehe, I’m so glad that you enjoyed the wentletraps and carrier shells as much as I did, too! Thank you so, so much for watching 🥰🐚

Oh, I was reviewing my video footage of the next adventure… I missed another rosy spindle! How? I have no idea?! I made a “omg nooo” Maddie face for for the next video 🤣 I hope you’ll enjoy it too 🤗

Oh yes, I ended up showing a nice variety of limpets today, I’m glad you enjoyed them 🤗 I sometimes film limpets, but then cut them out of the final video edit for one reason or another, but I should leave more in because I know a lot of people like them! I do put my “deleted scenes” on Facebook though, if you’re interested. Oh my goodness, thank you for watching the unboxing video! G’day Guadalupe 👋🏻🐚 Yes, you got the name right 😉 the carrier shells really do look spectacular- it’s amazing how they disguise themselves with other shells. My carrier shells were 1-1.5 centimetres, but fully grown ones are ten times the size!! I’m not sure if they get bigger, but adult ones can definitely get to 10-11cm. This type of carrier shell is a Pallid Carrier Shell (Xenophora pallidula) if you want to check them out online 🤔 Thank you so much for watching 🥰

      Hey Natacha 👋🏻🤩 Happy Birthday to you again, it was so lovely to finally meet you in person on the weekend 🥳 I also loved meeting your sister and little girl ❤️ Aw snap, I should have given you a birthday wentletrap after all 😅 but don’t worry; they are a rare prize for sure, but they wash up often enough with the shell piles… your keen eyes just need to pick them out 👀 I’m still really glad that you got some amazing finds for yourself (I loved that Paper Fig you found!). Alex Heads micro shells huh, I wonder if they’re still there? I’m on the look out for a Kieneri Cowrie, and I’ve heard that I’ll have better luck finding on there than at Pt C. I might have to visit there later this week to see if the pile hasn’t washed away 🤗 Thank you, as always, for watching (and living) the adventures with me 🥰

    Holy cow, what a great day for collecting! I am curious, how long does it take for you to set up all your finds for the final display? It’s too hard to pick a fave…they’re all amazing!

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  Před rokem +1

      G’day Maggie 👋🏻 I had an amazing day for sure! I tried to follow up this amazing day with another one yesterday but ahhh the rain hit me hard, so it looks like I used up most of my luck 🤣 Good question! I think it usually takes about 25-35 minutes in total for the final display, that includes; finding/walking to a spot, arranging shells, photos, filming the panning/moving shots, and filming my final spoken outro. Sometimes I might film the final goodbye twice just to compare which one best has my thoughts in order… unless I drop things and mess up the display, cuz then it’s definitely one and done; I don’t want to set up the precarious display a second time if I don’t have to 🤣! So, to discount all the other things I do, the display itself takes about 15-20 minutes, probably, depending on how many shells and finicky they are. Thank you so much for watching today 🥰

      Oooh that’s interesting 🤨 I LOVE sub adult shells in particular, and I’ve only ever found one sub adult Arabian. I’d love to find more, but it’s crazy to think that the juveniles are indistinguishable from Eglantinas… I wonder how many of my juvenile “Arabians” are in fact Eglantinas? I might share this fun little factoid with the views next time I come across one 🤣😄
