  • @nagasako7

    If that was my car, and I had lift. I'd probably clean off the brackets and spray them with rustoleum. The bracket looked like it was starting to rust

  • @aroundomaha

    I did the front today on my 2022. The rear subframe mount is slightly different as there is only one 14mm bolt but there is an additional brace. I had to laugh when you realized you lost track of which way the bar was when you took it off since it took me about 30 minutes of fussing with it to make sure.

    With the limited amount of body roll this car has from the factory, won’t a stiffer rear sway bar just induce more oversteer? Some body roll is desirable so the weight of the car is planted on one tire and maximum traction is achieved.

    • @Ekksanpher
      @Ekksanpher Před 4 lety +2

      I think the purpose of adding both a stiffer front and rear ARB is to avoid just that, if only the rear was made stiffer you would be correct. This is why you get adjustable ARBs to tune a cars handling balance :) hopefully that helps

    • @thetoyota86perspective54
      @thetoyota86perspective54 Před 4 lety +5

      If you have a square spring rate, the car may be prone to understeer just a touch. In this case (as is with mine), a stiffer rear bar might lean the car towards oversteer which is better especially for track work

    • @Carlos.Rivera
      @Carlos.Rivera Před 2 lety

      @@Ekksanpher i want the rear swaybar on soft setting, front will be oem. It will understeer?

    • @Ekksanpher
      @Ekksanpher Před 2 lety +1

      @@Carlos.Rivera It's not really possible to say as there are too many variable for a youtube comment section! :P If it does understeer, try moving the rear arb to the stiffer setting :) one of the perks of adjustable suspension. IF the aftermarket rear arb is stiffer than OEM on the softer setting (which I do not know) it should be more prone to oversteer than stock.
      In general, stiffening an axle will make that axle more prone to breaking traction first. (by increasing weight transfer across that specific axle). Making the other axle softer in comparison. If a car is very understeer prone and you stiffen the rear and soften the front, it may still understeer, but should be more neutral than it was before.
      The 'forbidden' alternative is to remove the front stock ARB (softening the front, increasing the rear WT) but that will likely cause other problems (like increased overall body roll) so It would likely increase lap times - but importantly, it is a free mod.

    Does anybody know if going one level thicker on the rear swaybar and adding a front strut tower brace is a good idea?

    • @richardunderwood950
      @richardunderwood950 Před 4 lety +3

      Spencer Bell if you’re driving a pre refresh brz id just put the one level thicker sway bar on. Imo the front doesn’t need anymore stiffness since it suffers from a tiny bit of understeer on turn in. Check out “the topher brz suspension swap” he swaps suspension over from a 17+ car and it helps a ton. I’m doing the same to my car.

    • @spencerb311
      @spencerb311 Před 4 lety +1

      Richard underwood I’m driving a 2019 86 TRD With the handling pack, I can tell my old FRS was balanced way more for over steer than this car, this car hardly oversteers compared to my old car, I have just been finding a way to get back to what the frs was like

      ivan Headers and Tune ! Def wakes the care up. If you can afford it an have access to e85 it definitely makes a BIG difference. If looking for other options i would definitely consider a good brand of coilovers, FA500, BC Racing, Or even a more budget friendly coil like Tein.
