I really appreciate his perspective on Central/South America. Our history down there is at best complicated and to hear him essentially admit this, discuss the tough choices that were made, to acknowledge having to understand all the different sides in the region, and to admit there were some difficult lessons learned is very refreshing. The USA now has $33 trillion of national debt. $23 trillion of that was run up post 9/11 and it continues to grow at an alarming rate. Its not hard to see that the Saudi's and Indians are hedging their bets by maintaining good relations with the Chinese. America cant even defend its own border from illegals.
