- This is another great kit from our friends at Atlantis. This kit builds up nicely and looks great painted. I had a lot of fun with this one and that's good because model building is supposed to be fun!
It is great to see these old Aurora kits coming back. I just hope they also do the human figures.
Great job on that, you're the first to do a video on this. Personally seems don't bother me, I don't like gaps tho. Like the Wolfman kit I did, the feet aren't fully formed so I had to fill em in to be whole. Just as I was leaving for work, my bear kit was at my door 🙂
Thanks for sharing this Dave! and thanks to the Folks at Atlantis for sending it to you. I love how realistic the bear looks! Great build
This was a fun one. Looking forward to hearing about your trip. Keep me posted.
Kind of looks like me when I wake on the wrong side of the bed. LOL Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing.
Yes me too, I really did enjoy it though. These were fun kits.
Awesome build Dave! It's great seeing you have so much fun! Your paint work looks so good! Keep it up, I'm learning a lot from you. 😎👍
That is so good to hear. Most of my paint stuff is trial and error. The one other thing I try to do is use mainly supplies you can get at Hobby Lobby since a lot of people don't have access to brick and mortar hobby stores anymore. For the most part, I use testors enamels and Michael's store brand acrylics for washes.
That looks great Dave…very realistic…I also have had the same issue with the filler I use shrinking after I’ve painted…
I have a feeling I rushed the drying process on the filler, but I was having a lot of fun with it, and wanted to keep moving.
@@thegluebombshow 🤣
Nice work!
Hi Dave, nice build..! I have both the Sabre toothed Tiger & Cave Bear which have just arrived in the post.. Not sure what seam filler you are using but I use Vallejo plastic putty.. Its easy to apply from a small bottle and dries without any shrinkage... Im not good at seam work either..👍
Thanks so much, I also use Vallejo putty and love it. I am wondering if I am asking too much of it to fill the kind of larger seams that are used to make the piece posable. I'm still very happy with it over all.
It could be that the putty has fallen through the gaps with it being quite soft.. Milliput Superfine is supposed to be good to work with.. Ive used the standard Milliput and its takes an age to sand down.
Cool model. Unfortunately, they are not available in our shops.
Where are you at? Hopefully they will get wider distribution on some of these kinds of kits. I got mine from the company direct, but depending on where you are, I know shipping can be prohibitive.
The bear looks great. I'm not fond of posable figures either.
Bg did a good video on filling seams on a 1:16 figure
Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
