TRIP REPORT | Delta Airlines - 737 800 - Atlanta (ATL) to Sacramento (SMF) | First Class

- Welcome to another trip report! Back on April 4th, I flew from Islip to Sacramento via Ft. Lauderdale, Key West, & Atlanta. Here is the final flight of this crazy day.
The seats on the 737 aren't lie-flat; they're standard. I'm glad they were equipped with IFEs and reclined far. The flight departed a little late, but the meal service made up for it. In case you didn't see my trip report from SMF to ATL on a DL 737, there was no meal served. Now the thing that made me dislike this flight was the fact that the flight attendants didn't wake me up, even though my seat was reclined and my seatbelt was off. I wasn't able to film any landing, but worse my ears never popped and basically ruined my eardrum, causing me to get surgery on them. :(

I laughed so hard about early in the video when your flight was pulling into the gate at ATL when this guy had to yell” wait! Don’t close the door, lol! Very strange they didn’t wake you up before landing in SMF as it seems they are required to do so by the FAA. At least there was more of a meal service on this flight in first class, unlike the time you flew them in first class from ATL-ABQ!
today's Q re-view includes a tomato juice sighting. and he wasn't the only one who fell asleep. the FA's must have been asleep too not to notice his seat reclined and seat belt off prior to landing. you still get a well done Quebec Fpxtrot Sierra and thanks for sharing!!
Delta’s in the process of retrofitting the newer 737-800s (N3744F-N3773D) with the 10 inch screens and head rests in Economy and A321N style first class seats, finally. No they won’t get the larger bins, unfortunately, but they’ll be better than before. Funnily enough, the economy seats on the new retrofits are the same seats, just modified with bigger screens and head rests: you can tell because they have the same old fixed tray tables. They’re not the 737-900 style seats. For the older 737-800s (N371DA to N399DA and N3740B-N3743H, including N377DA but not N377DE) which already have the 10 inch screens but still have the old seats, I think those ones are staying unfortunately, but the entire fleet’s slowly getting the split-scimitar winglets. Also, they have 4 other 737-800s (N774DE-N776DE, and N377DE) and those have the sky interior with the -900ER style seats!
Funnily enough, Delta has two 737-800s with very similar sounding tail numbers, N377DA, and N377DE. Both have the newer 10” screens inside, but the latter has the sky interior, adjustable head rests.

Does Delta still allow you to keep the blankets? A couple years ago, I flew First Class with Delta from Daytona Beach to Atlanta, Atlanta to Rochester and they let me keep both of the blankets.

Southwest will soon start service from Sacramento to Hawaii in the fall.
I know I can’t wait! Maybe I’ll do the inaugural flight! They are also launching inter-island service, which I personally think is kind of a douchey thing to do to Hawaiian Airlines lol.
you should also catch Hawaiian when they up gauge to A332 jan-mar 2019 before they down gauge to A321 in April 2019. Actually catch both flights lol.

Yeah it happened a ton. Honestly, it’s happened probably 60% of the time I’ve connected through ATL. It’s a maze

Yeah, I was actually not lying. I woke up when the lights turned on at the gate. IDK how that happened!
