I was there last night!!! Sa totoo lang, may mga difficulties pero di namin ramdam yun, what matters most is nandoon sila! Marami saming napuyat sa pag abang ng ticket, mraming mga umalis ng trabaho, ngsick leave kuno para lang makapunta! Pag nandoon kana, just their presence makes our heart warm! Thank you Expo2020 for bringing Mahalima in Dubai! It may be a short notice, but the boys and the UAE Aâtin were able to pulled a good show! Sino bang magaakala kami pang nasa Dubai ang unang makakapanood ng live performance nila in this pandemic diba? Were beyond greatful! Thank you EXPO2020 and thank you SB19 for your music! đ€

Nakikita ko ang stress sa mukha nila .. naaawa ako... pero ang galing madiskarte SB19 sa situation... pinasaya nila ang crowd.. professional talaga.. this is just stepping stone for them in the future. And hopefully this time ShowBT would learn to take care of their idols from this point on...
it's just the start, it may not be the best yet. But once they get recognized, I'm sure they won't be having concerts lke this anymore
Its ShowBt problem, they shod hv not agreed with short noticed. They dont have even time to condition and recover from jet lag

I was there in the concert. Although there were technical difficulties it did not stop us from enjoying the show. So i never thought the audience who watched virtually felt like this sad and too disappointed. Quite a different experience when you see them live in person.

Indeed, i was there last night and sobrang nag enjoy ako kahit ako lang mag isang pumunta.. technical difficulties is not a hindrance for sb19 sobrang satisfied parin kami sa performance nila.
Kaya po siguro ganoon kasi yung nanood dun sa mismong SB19 nakafocus, kami pong nanood sa online, nakikita namin lahat pati mga audience na nagchecheer up at nag-eenjoy. Kaya po inis na inis kami because we know that SB19 was more than that, that they can be the best they can be pero nabawasan dahil sa technical probs. But still they proved their professionalism to the highest level.

Hi Chuck, this might be a long one but I just wanted to share this as someone who sings in church and events:
1. There were some off tunes because the ones who have the mics are doing the second voices/harmony but the ones who were to do the melody which is like the foundation of the song had no mics at all which is why it sounded off but if all the mics were working well, they could have blended. I mean Josh was singing it correctly it sounded off because he was doing second voice to the main in Tilaluha but we couldn't hear the main-
2. Also you were correct with the in-ear monitors they couldn't hear themselves which is a big factor as a singer/performer- since you would need to hear yourself to avoid being out of tune.
3. Also some of it sounded off in the live stream because WE COULDN'T HEAR THE ACTUAL BACKGROUND MUSIC,
4. Pablo and Ken are very transparent they couldn't hide their disappointment with the tech issues, it was too painful to watch because for SB19- as they said before "The Stage is very sacred to them"
On a brighter side:
* Saw all the fancams well they were better in person- Monster Performers indeed!
* There were media people who attended the event and became very curious about the boys
*Saw from twitter- that an "international producer" who attended the performance got interested in them.. we'll hear from it more soon...
*The Expo Dubai 2020 removed the videos they will fix the audio I believe so I guess they are helping us out as well- they even published an apology in twitter for the technical issues.
*The media in UAE were shocked and surprised that the boys weren't lip sync. and that they pushed through even in the hardest situations.
There's a blessing coming for them- we'll hear it very soon.. and now I understand THIS WAS A BLESSING IN DISGUISE- "Maniwala darating ang biyaya higit pa sa mga nawala.." They were meant to go there and experience it all for a BIGGER REASON.
Edit: Now that we saw their Dubai Vlog, just wanted to correct a few things too.
1. THEY BROUGHT their in-ear but ai thin by the looks of Justinâs face and the explanation of a sound engineer the frequency of SB19âs in-ear monitor didnât match the freq in dubai. you can check out Justinâs face when they tried practicing with the in ear, I think he was somehow hurt because most probably there was a loud feedback noise when he tried it. You can also check that before the show they decided to remove the in-ear and use the speaker monitor instead in front of them. 2. They also said during the dry run with the dubai staff that if their mics are not working they will point their mics as signals.
3. I think things werenât really working even before the show and they figured it out already, itâs just that they need to push through with what they have and make the most out of it,

It's everything I've wanted to say as someone who stayed on Twt after watching the ls while at work... Everything happens for a reason. Remember that the harder they fall, the higher they bounce back... That's SB19. So let's keep the faith.
And hopefully, the boys have been able to rest enough so they can also enjoy their first trip to Dubai after everything that has happened.đ

Youâre absolutely right. Their management must be very strict before accepting . In the end itâs the artistâs reputation who are at stake here. Fans are forgiving but for those who are first time audience of SB19 would be skeptical with their talent. With their status, their management must be selective and not just jump into short notice invitation just because of the opportunity . They need to protect their name. In the first place bakit last minute ang invitation? Replacement ba sila? The fact that the organisers also screwed up, shows no respect to our SB19. They should make a public apology on their behalf. I hope thereâs another show in .Dubai to redeem themselves. Fans should demand this from them and not just say itâs okay because they saw SB 19, organisers should give them another date to perform and allow those audience to watch again. Lugi eh. For them they were so excited to see and listen to their performance.

@@user-ky8wv7vw5h But I think they should have apologised directly during the event, and not only on twitter after they got bashed on twitter. Not all the people who watch Expo are using twitter (me included). So they should acknowledge their fault during the show, like someone from the organisers should have done it.
And in the first place the orginesers shouldn't even invite artist if they weren't prepared to give them a proper stage. Because I was watching it live on their Expo YT channel and sometimes you couldn't even here the music properly. From the fancams it sounded not as bad. So I do understand that people who were there do not see it as bad. But for someone who watched it on the TV or YT it was really bad.
Like the sound should have been checked properly before the performance and they should have extra mices ready in case somethings goes bad, which the organisers did not have.
For me Twitter apology is not a proper public apology. EXPO is a big world event not a Twitter one.

They should already apologise during the event for all the people who watched it live to see that it was their fault, not only after they got complaints on twitter. Because SB19 were the only ones apologising at the moment which they shouldnt as it was not their fault.

Agree. Management should be more strict. SB19 is in the position to demand quality and guarantees from their contractors. They have a reputation to protect. Unfair to the boys who are very professional and have worked so hard to build their rep. Very truthful and straightforward reaction sir.

I was there yesterday. If you watch the event, youâll see clearly how the boys was so uncomfortable with the mic problem. I used to organized events before, in these cases if you have 5 performers you should have 5 more mics ready for replacement in case some issue arise.
I also observed that there is no in-ear monitors. As an amateur singer, if you are on stage you are most likely will not hear the music and the sound of your voice.
If you observe the whole performance, Stell keeps pressing his ear, it is like a makeshift in-ear monitor so he can hear his voice to check whether his pitch is still correct.
Itâs their first live performance with live audience *after the pandemic* and their second out of country performance if i am not mistaken.
Though they struggled so hard with the technical difficulty, they did their best to perform. All to blame is the organizers of this event. They handle this very poorly.
correction, this is not their live performance with live audience for the first time, they already performed with live audience before pandemic. This isnât their first time performing live with live audience outside Philippines too, they also did it before in SKorea :) ⊠SB19 already knows their roles just that Expo isnât ready for them. :)))

Yes, ShowBT should say NO especially when there's lack of preparation and quality and safety will be compromised. A'Tin on Twitter should stop pressuring ShowBT to go international when they're not ready. When u rush things, u won't get the best results. ShowBT badly needs higher skilled professional QA and Audio Engineer who will make sure everything works well according to their standards
True! Suggest ko lng kung magconcert cla internationally wag minus one ang gamitin. Dapat may banda or orchestra cla like O Zone concert.
The fact that SB19 reiterated so many times that they accepted the offer/invite because they really wanted to meet Aâtin in person! Face to face. This is not just because of being ready or not for World Domination. They want to perform live face to face. Lesson learned for both sides but they really love us so much and give thanks to Aâtin personally. #mahalima
We have totally the same sentiments Chuck.. As a former band member myself, I was actually worried when I learned about the short notice performance.. But I know our boys just wanted to be there for our fellow Filipinos.. They took the risk.. They acted professionally and continued despite the problem and thatâs what I love about them..
A learning lesson indeed.
Haters (like the cockroaches they are) will come at us and Mahalima.
We need to neutralize this negativity by diligently promoting SB19 in every future event going forward.

I am a lead choir too, the rhyme that Josh had brought during tilaluha bridge is his real parts. Nagkataon lang talaga na mas malakas yung mic nila ni Stell. Plus that audio problem. Dito maprove how improved he is. Remember yung Acapella lang nila sa Hanggang sa huli? (Yung sinadya para pwede ka makipagsing along sa kanila , ikaw yung melody? Thats how consistent he is. harmonization kc yan, di talaga maganda pag hindi napakinggan ng sabay sabay. Pero kudos to them, napakahumble pa rn at Wala silang sinisisi. Kung ibang performer lang yan (may mga foreign artist na kapag ganyan ang naranasan nila they walk out.) Proud of you Mahalima. I can't stop myself from crying. Our boys made us all proud! How to face difficult situations head on. Another good example of being resilient, professionals and passionate to their craft. I will strive to be like them!! Proud A'TIN here! đđđ

Kayo na lang hinintay ko mag react dito. Dami kong naramdaman, di ako pinatulog ng event na to grabe. SB19 still did great despite the mess. I'm not even worried about the haters, I'm worried about what the boys felt after this event. Knowing them, big deal sa kanila bawat performance. The look on their faces broke my heart. I hope na ung mga assurance ng A'tin is enough to let them know it's not their fault and they gave everyone a great time. This experience gave me more reason to stan them even harder.
Same here. Napapaluha din ako kanina. It was so bittersweet. Maraming what if's. But I think the most important thing is they were able to have this experience. And knowing them, they will come out stronger from this.

I think you're right kuya, minsan sa sobrang eager nating makamit nila yong world domination era nalilimutan natin yong boundaries. Hindi rin kasi maalis yon sa mga a'tin na nandiyan na dati pa, pero I realized that maybe we should really put on trust to the company like what you're pointing out. We just really loves our boys that we are blinded up of the eagerness to gave them the reward they are deserving pero siguro let's take it one by one... slowly but surely.

i have mixed emotions till now, huhu young super proud ka sa SB19 at the same time raging mad sa hayop na mic and tech difficulties na yan, naiiyak for ken kasi dama ko frustration nya at paiyak na sya talaga nung magsasalita na sya, tapos sobrang proud kay josh and stell sa pag buhat sa mga kapatid nya . nang gigigil ako sa production ng expo kasi parang di nila inasikaso ng maayos yung stage before doing the event, nakakaiyak.. pero still sobrang proud ako sa mahalima kasi they still did it right and they were very professional. pero nako, pakiramdam ko inano, sa ibang artist naman maayos tapos biglang sa kanila nagkanda ganyan ganyan? hmmm... fishyy over protective ako sa mahalima yes mahal na mahal ko mga yan

It was painful to watch them struggle and attempt to compensate with what they had technically. We know what they are capable of especially on live performances. Ang sakit lang talaga. But if there's a silver lining here, which I believe shone brightest is LOVE. The authentic love the members have for each other and the overflowing love of A'Tin for the boys.
The boys looked at each other with concern written all over their faces but there was also an assurance that they got each other's back. They passed the working mics to whomever needed it. Alam naman natin that they have already mastered that. They assisted each other in all ways possible. That's not just professonalism that's love. And the A'Tin. Ahhh, there's just so much love for the boys. It was palpable despite the tech difficulties. They felt the frustrations from the boys so they gave more reassuring love as they screamed and dance the whole night. Not to mention the fact that they had to scramble to take leave from work and buy the ticket that sold faster that hotcakes. There will be more international events waiting for SB19. This is a painful lesson to be learned. But I am damn sure the next one will be bigger and stronger. Ang saya sa pamilyang ito. đ

That feeling of wanting to fly all the way to Dubai and fix the sound system and change their mics, but I know it wasn't that easy as well for the organizers. However, they could have prevented it from happening and even fix it along their performance but hey, they didn't do anything! I can't watch till the end the performance on their page rather just watched it with the fancams and all because its more comfortable a bit to watch than the one being monitored on screen. I'm having mixed emotions that they did them dirty in their first ever international performance. Just can't hold my sigh the entire day and it's all I could ever think.

I agree with your observations. Perhaps, nag due diligence din naman siguro ang ShowBT Management before they said yes to this. This Expo is major, much-awaited event so ang assumption ay they are technically equipped to run big shows. They also travelled business class which allowed them to rest during the 9-hr flight. The broadcast version may have been mortifying for those who were watching but everyone who was in the event claims she/he enjoyed the show. And boys were happy to have performed live (in front of a live audience) and met their fans in Dubai. I don't think this will affect the reputation of the boys as artists. The ones hating are already haters to begin with. Now that the world has opened again, they have to be ready for many more performances. And there is always risk with every live performance no matter how much you prepare for it. Ang importante, the boys knew how to handle it. Hayaan mo na lang tumalak ang mga bashers. On the next to the live show!

I just feel really bad and sad for the boys. They did them so dirty, like I appreciate how they invited the boys to perform, but for them to tell the boys in the last few minutes without preparation and such, the organizers are partly to be blamed to be honest. I bet they only invited the boys in the last minute because the tickets have poor sales. A'tin Dubai already expressed their opinions to the organizers long ago that they wanted to see SB19 in that event but the organizers did not listen, so the result is poor ticket sales. Therefore, the organizer/s has no other choice but to invite SB19 at the last minute to sold the tickets out and 4 minutes after the announcement the tickets are really sold out! Right now, the organizers don't mind the outcome because all they are thinking is the profit they gain from that event.

We can't already erase what's been done. Tho, still thankful to them and apology accepted na rin. I just can't stop thinking that there must be some way to avoid it or at least fix it along their performance, it's just they seemed to turn blind eyes and it's kind of frustrating.
I agree with you. The organizers are unprepared. Even during the performance of Zephanie there had been some problems already. They did not even bother to fix it before the sb19 performance began.

Their stylist Mark didn't even brought any clothes/wardrobe for the event & only had 3-4 hours to prepare for it, so he had no choice to go rushed shopping in Dubai that caused him not only stressed but also cost a lot since Balmain was one of the high end brand too. Thank God both him & the boys got through it those obstacles. The management hopefully won't allow to happen this again. I really felt sorry for the boys coz i know they only want what's best for their fans but hope they don't worry coz whatever happened in this event doesn't made their fan's love them less. âș

I worked for several K-pop related events before. Aside from the artist, managers, stylist, securities, etc⊠part of their team who they bring along from Korea are their own Light engineer and sound engineer. These engineers are really meticulous. Part of their schedule is to be at the venue prior to the event like at least a night before. not only check the equipments and stage, but also how the lights and sounds will be per performance. And during the event, youâll see them beside the tech staff to closely monitor that the lights and audio are correct and to their standard.
but the thing is, they were invited unexpectedly. They canât possibly send someone letâs say their light&sound engineer(if the management have one) immediately to dubai after the call drops. They will need preparations for it. SBT is not yet a big ent industry in the Phils so I assumed that the venue have their own engineer to monitor things. This is also a lesson to SBT that they should hire more workers for them. SB19 is already making money, they should expand their staffs, equipments and facilities more.

Sa umpisa palang pansin na yung problem sa mic at sound system . Napansin ko rin ang different reactions ng Boys dahil hindi ok mga mic nila .But then they did not panic and continue singing, dancing & entertaining the audiences. They did show their best performances kahit pa may problem sa audio . Actually I can see the audiences to be really enjoying lalo na at nagdagdag pa ng songs ang SB19. Sa video ng isang nanood mismo sa show said,they enjoyed it and were very happy going home after the show kahit mga puyat at pagod sa biyahe. The Boys were really very humble and professional.

I thought so too, his voice was the most noticeable bc he has the loudest mic, from what I know when doing harmony they all have to sing in different tune, that part should make stell voice shine then other members would make it more beautiful by singing in different tones and it could also be attributed to them not having earpiece. Good points. Well, Dubai Expo should also check their tech as well but I agree that it works both ways... SB19's management should have said "no" too unless the boys were given at least a day (or two) of rest and rehearsals before the actual performance, practice, and tech rehearsals too (even webinars have tech rehearsals with the speakers).

I attended the concert last night and the feeling po is different. We enjoyed it kahit my technical problem sa mic but we really appreciate kung anong ibinigay ng boys sa amin. I was literally crying last night while watching the livestream and kept saying, "Stop! Just stop!" because I couldn't bear to see the boys get disrespected and humiliated that way. Since they started performing, they've considered the stage as sacred and they've once again proven that last night: amidst the tech difficulties, they still pulled through and acted professionally. Majority of us watching the livestream were just horrified at how bad the audio system was and how their vocals were compromised. Meanwhile, those who watched the concert in Dubai attested they had a blast and the boys did fantastic, contrary to the utter mishap that we witnessed on the livestream. After watching the fancams of UAE A'tin who were there, I felt so much better.
Fast forward to today...it looks like someone in the international (music?) industry watched them perform and pull through despite the massive tech problem last night and took notice...so, abangan nalang naten ang mga susunod na kabanata!

I cried watching it out of frustration. The boys deserve only the BEST STAGE. Naawa ako sa kanila, kitang kita yung panic at stress sa mukha nila. Buti nalang talaga magaling sila in terms of showmanship. They still managed to pull it off and deliver a good show. But really, it was traumatic.
The fact na 1.4 million daw yung nasa official livestream makes most of us worried kasi what about the casuals and the bashers? Hindi yun yung best experience kaya worried ang fans na nasa livestream.
