  • This Modern Granny Winter Poncho pattern could really be called, "Modern Granny Meets Glacier Cowl". I decided for my third poncho in the series to add a ribbed turtleneck to it in the same stitch that I used when crocheting the Glacier Cowl. If you are someone who doesn't like anything on your neck, you can simply leave off the collar and still have a beautiful winter poncho.

thank you so much! I finished this and it is so perfect! I had a knitting pattern from years ago for a poncho with a turtleneck and can't for the life of me find the pattern. I did this with the Ombre dyed yarn, and it is so pretty! I used the leftovers to make a matching dog sweater for my dog. can't wait to wear this in cooler weather.

Wow so easy to join the starting chain. That makes the infinity cowl so much easier.

I found that using a single crochet foundation chain makes it a lot easier to eliminate the chance of twisting.

Can this be made into a 4 corner poncho? It is nice that it covers the front and back of you, but my arms get cold really fast. Just curious if it could be🧶🧶🧶🧶

Is there an alternative for the cowl neck. Those back post dc are too hard to hard to do. I'm using a Jumbo Muffin which is thicker yarn than what is in the video.

Can you tell me the stitch multiple? I want to make this using a yarn with a 4 mm hook so I'll need to make my beginning chain longer.

Mikey...I love this poncho & I want to make it but you and these diagrams, I can’t with you and these diagrams, you freak me out. When I see a pattern with diagrams I skip it and go to the next. Why must it be so darn complicated, all I want to do is make a poncho. I remember abt 5yrs ago Simply Crochet put out a pattern for a poncho, it was so pretty and it didn’t have a diagram. HELP!!! Just make it easy.

    • @TheCrochetCrowd
