  • The Ministry of Health of Jordan is implementing a National Action Plan to combat Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), with the first objective focusing on “Improving awareness and understanding of AMR through effective communication, education, and training”. In Jordan, young people aged 10-24 constitute almost 30% of the population, highlighting the necessity for tailored AMR education for adolescents. USAID MTaPS has supported the Ministry of Health's School Health Directorate in developing a communications and awareness program aimed at educating students on the appropriate use of antimicrobials and effective infection prevention and control practices through awareness sessions. Among its components is the use of an animation video that illustrates the link between irresponsible antibiotic use and the development of AMR, emphasizing the importance of seeking medical advice.
