The Gardens at Oak Lawn Cheese Factory: May 2024 chapter 4

More frigid NE winds have ended the Magnolia season for the most part... that said, it is clearing the air of the smoke from the many Canadian wildfires. There are still lots of blooms in the woodlands and Primulas still blooming well... the next big season will be on us soon... tree,herbaceous, and intersectional Peonies; as well as Martagon lilies.I am keeping busy with general garden maintenance in addition to developing more crevice garden and rockery spaces...

I'm guessing you are referring to the woodland Phlox (Phlox divaricata)... I love combining with other spring ephemerals, especially Primula sieboldiana... thanks for watching! We are located in east central Wisconsin... the gardens are two acres of former cattle pasture and corn field that we began to develop from scratch 52 years ago... L
