    Don't know if anyone's commented this yet, or if you have worked it out yourself, but the function copy and paste works when naming the samples. So you can spend time naming the first sample something ike DrumLoop_Slice1 or whatever then hit func+copy before you save the slice. Then the next slice you just hit func+paste when you go to name and edit the number. Then all your slices will show up in your browser in order with minimal effort.

    You can't chop pc imported sample, but you can resample pc imported sample (press Sampling button and select source (SRC on Digitakt) with G knob) , then, you can chop them! 🔥🔥

    First off, thanks for breaking this down the way you did. Super appreciate that!
    All this time I've been loading each sample chop or slice into individual tracks and obviously not leaving me with much tracks available or open. I saw a suuuuuper quick thing on this before but didn't see the part where they weren't saving them to a track and dropping a different track into each step in the step sequencer.

    Great explanation and teaching of the method, this is just a very over complicated workflow for something as simple as making sample chops. This is super easy coming from NI Maschine and also having used the Pioneer Toraiz SP16. There's a lot of love for the Digitakt and "Elektron Workflow" I was acutally suprrused something as basic as this is so labor intense. Another was that Midi tracks don't have a basic scale mode. I want to pick a key and scale dammit.

    • @minutiaemusic
      @minutiaemusic  Před 5 lety +1

      If you have a more recent iPhone, you'll need the proper adapter and a 1/8th to dual TS Cable. The adapter can be purchased at an Apple Store, and the cable can be bought from most music retail stores as well as Amazon.

    • @Drakkarsh

    • @minutiaemusic
      @minutiaemusic  Před 5 lety +3

      I feel that. Or even some kind of auto/grid slicer of some sort. At the end of the day, it is basically designed for one shots and smaller samples so I get their initial thought process. I do hope for some kind of slicing update in the future though.

    • @minutiaemusic
      @minutiaemusic  Před 5 lety

      Depends on the source really. Especially with how sensitive the encoders are. Sometimes it's a real pain trying to get slices exactly where I want them. But I use both methods pretty regularly so to each his own, haha.

  • @Deadstarable
    @Deadstarable Před 3 lety

    But where are all the samples? You can’t place 3 samples on one track right? You have to use three.

    • @minutiaemusic
      @minutiaemusic  Před 3 lety

      You can place any sample on any empty step on a track. So you can put a kick, snare, and a hat on track 1 but the samples can't overlap each other. Think of each track as an individual choke group.

    • @Deadstarable
      @Deadstarable Před 3 lety

      @@minutiaemusic Thanks. Did not know that. This is a game changer for me. It’s a bit like the old trackers where you had only 4 tracks. This forces you to be very creative.

      Hmm that is a little strange. I had this happen to me twice before; once when my plus drive was full, and once when my project had hit the 64mb limit. I'm not sure where to go from here but I did find this thread on the Elektronauts forum which will hopefully give you some useful info:
      www.elektronauts.com/t/load-error-issue-when-loading-sample-digitakt/81316/6
      Also, if you updated the Digitakt's OS recently, try reverting to a previous version, or the latest version of your a few behind. If all else fails I recommend sending a ticket to Elektron support which should definitely be able to help you get this straightened out. 👍
      Hope this helps!
