    I personally use two accounts to record because it's just quicker, but sometimes I'll switch to Replay Mod for more complex shots as it lets you export the camera path and depth map to use in Blender. (but that takes up 100mb per FRAME)

    I think the mod: CosmicNPCs deserves a shout out. It allows you to motion capture yourself and replay it using different models/skins etc. This can result in the same "multiplayer effect" that you have with blockbuster. It's supports versions 1.7.10 till 1.18.1 and using it in combination with ReplayMOD is insane!

    • @McHorsesCreations
      @McHorsesCreations Před 2 lety +26

      Fun fact, CosmicNPCs and Blockbuster mod are based on the code from the same mod called Mocap mod by EchebKeso. However, due to my wish to make Blockbuster work with a mod called Minema (that lets you record frame by frame videos, if you have a crappy PC, it sort of irons out the frame rate in singleplayer), I had to rewrite most of that code, so hence the lack of "multiplayer effect." 😅

    YES!
    Finally Machinimas are getting recognition again.
    Personally, as someone who loves making Minecraft cinematics and have been working here and there on a few larger projects of my own, it is quite nice to see this type of content get some recognition again.
    Current days, its quite hard to make Machinimas and actually get an audience since it seems so cliche to many, and fell beneath the radar of popularity years ago.
    Im happy to see they are still grasping at the cliffside of the youtube algorith we thought they fell off so long ago, and I can't wait to see the new creators the come into the community just from this video alone.
    Thank you AntVenom for promoting this again; It means the world to me as it was my childhood watching them, and one of my passions creating them for myself, and soon again for others to enjoy as well.

    So the Minecraft movie we've all been waiting for is already here, thats honestly amazing news. I never actually heard of blockbuster and the other 1.12 mods. But i have a question, do you really get all the features of new Mc versions with Future MC to the point that you can't tell the difference or are there still some things missing like chunkloading, optimization etc?

    • @McHorsesCreations
      @McHorsesCreations Před 2 lety +79

      No, it's just provides the content from new versions to some some extent (I don't know if fully though). Sadly, Mojang and Forge made it impossible to update mods of my size so they stuck at 1.12.2. Honestly, those obstacles made me quit Minecraft modding altogether. 😔

    • @lucascaiah
      @lucascaiah Před 2 lety +18

      Future MC makes a great job at backporting blocks, this is its major pro
      Now if you want 1.13 water mechanics, conduits, tridents that actually work as intended, buttons, pressure plates, signs and so many other things, you'll have to look for other mods
      Future mobs are not included, for example

      Future MC is still missing quite a few features, but more and more things are being added to the game, such as Netherite Armour's Knockback Resistance and new mobs.
      It is best to use Future MC in tandem with other backporting mods, such as Aqua Acrobatics (for 1.13 swimming) and Future Versions (which adds the nether update blocks).

    • @embeddedt
      @embeddedt Před 2 lety +5

    I’ve made a 21 minute short film with the BlockBuster suite of mods. Having nearly 100+ hours of experience working with the mods, I can confidently say it is a total game changer, especially since I’m an aspiring filmmaker. I’ve felt like I’ve barely scratched the surface of what the software can do, and the constant updates from different people on the McHorse team just make the mods even easier and more practical to use. And the fact that it is all FREE is mind boggling to me. Don’t think. Just get these mods as soon as possible.

    I study directing in film school and we were supposed to do storyboard. I did it in MC and went even beyond that and made pre-visualisation of my film. It helped a lot on the set to know where to put the camera and for cameraman to see my vision. It took time to build the set in MC but in the end it was worth it. I am so glad there are ways to make this possible not just for content creators but for filmmakers too.

    Machinimas are so cool, I love them. My favorite genre is Super Mario 64 machinimas, which I guess were some of the earliest ones on CZcams, but the tools for Mario 64 now allow for all sorts of crazy things that old machinimas could never come close to. Minecraft machinimas can also be REALLY good what with tools like these. I also love machinimas that combine the two via clever greenscreening (and with Mario 64's source code being decompiled, someone has even managed to port Mario 64's entire character controller and physics into Minecraft directly, so that there's actually a fully playable Mario 64 Mario IN Minecraft, even powerups like the Wing Cap work. I don't think it's released publicly yet and is still kinda rough but there was a demonstration video and I can only imagine the potential that could result from it).

The story follows a group of NPCs (non-player characters) who live in a remote village on a server where they've been undisturbed by human players. Our hero, Mark, feels like there's more to life than the simple day-to-day activities of the quiet town. Joined by his friends Sammy and Rosaura, and many other humorous characters, Seedlings is all about friendship, adventure, and questioning the reality with which you are presented!" it was a pretty good series until it randomly stopped in Season 2 Episode 12

    well now I understand how certain shots are done in a non scripted video, always wondered if it was just extra people on the server recording in spectator or something else I can't think of, this is very neat

    Wow, Minecraft Machinimas have really come along way since the Herobrine Origins Machinima, the production which introduced me to this wacky and wonderful world of Minecraft filmmaking

    I've used the Blockbuster mod for multiple videos. It's genuinely priceless as a tool. There's nothing else that can match it and my videos wouldn't be good without it. Highly recommend.

    i've never knew about the blockbuster mod. It's a shame it hasn't been updated to later versions. Thanks for showing us these mods.

      It sucks indeed, but Mojang and Forge made it impossible to update mods to newer versions. It's just inhuman amount of work. 😔

    When you said " As a human with shaky hands", I immediately remember my old and long feeling jealousy of people who can do very precise movements with no help at all.
    I envy those people, those skills I envy.

    Minecraft Movies can really be interesting with features and mods like these ngl. This reminds me of a Minecraft Movie called Songs of War by Black Plasma Studios. Its pretty amazing with all the graphics and shots. I'll honestly be really thrilled to watch Hollywood level Minecraft Movies.
    Awesome video btw. Keep it up :).

    Does the blockbuster mod have insane loading when skipping forward or backwards in shots?
    I gave up on Replaymod because of the time it took to actually load stuff

    • @McHorsesCreations
      @McHorsesCreations Před 2 lety

      No, because it doesn't actually tries to restore the world. It's much smoother, but it doesn't guarantee 100% reproducible preview, however, replay should be matched as long as the scene doesn't depend on a lot of random. Each method has its drawbacks, but the terrain and blocks are should restore most of the time.
