I took andy's cry as his realization that his hip won't let him play at the level he used to play at anymore, rather than a cry of joy

you can see his hip is giving him a problem as he walks towards the net. There is a slight delay in his stride as he avoids putting weight on his hip.

Federer and Nadal have been on a different level whenever they have won GS but not Murray. Only supported because of being Brit and Wimbledon winner.
Murray wouldn't be a part of the big 3. Djokovic has been strong and has proved time and again he can match up to both Federer and Nadal. Murray hasn't.

Omg, I know that they were playing it because it was the end of a late-night session, but the fact that "Closing Time" is playing while Murray is having his realization of his career possibly being over is such a cruel coincidence.

Hopefully that will be soon, having your records broken years after you've retired a la pete sampras is one thing, but having them broken will your still playing and have a 5 year statistical accumulation advantage over you career rivals is embarrassing.

The dominance ofe him, Nadal and djokovic over the last 2 decades is something that's unlikely to be ever seen again. It really was. Laslo lost both parents to cancer, and he is so young and had to take care of his sister while playing tennis and supporting his father throughout his illness. He is very shy guy and still can't really talk in front of people or cameras, so it was really big deal for him to open up about it and dedicate title to them.
I get a little emotional whenever people cry but I get extremely sad when my favourite player (Federer) does...I felt even sadder when Novak cried after losing to Del Potro in the Olympics...

For me the most emotional moment was Federer winning the 2017 Australian Open. I had a cup of tea in my hand, which I dropped of happiness, when the Hawkeye declared the ball in.
Then you stood in horror of the tea you dropped and a perfectly good cup was broken, nah you probably weren’t feeling that
@@possesedcake5422 Well, for the first time, and probably the last, my mom did not get angry at me for breaking something. And I did feel extreme emotions when he won. Afterall, Federer won a grandslam after 4 and a half years.

I cried when Agassi retired I was like 12 at the time and my dad used to go nuts watching him play and he was my favorite for a long time. I'm glad I got to witness Andre at a time where he had already rediscovered his love for the game the 2003 Aussie open was an unbelievably good night.
People saying they are happy when Federer retires are no Tennis fans. His game is beautiful to watch and he elevated many players game to the point it's at now. On top of that, he maybe is the ultimate sports ambassador across any sport

2017 was the most emotional season in the modern era I suppose. Federer and Nadal back on TOP. The Paris Masters capping it all.
The saddest moment in tennis history will be Federers retirement.
I wonder if he will anounce it at the beginning, mid way or at the end of season. Or will he announce it at Basel? At Wimbledon? Will he play several tournaments before retiring so he gets a proper farewell from most venues? Í would like to see that, although it'd probably be too painful for him and his family.

He needs to announce at the start of the season that his last tournament will be basel(which is conviniently at the end of the season anyways), that farewell tour would be absolutely insane and legendary

@AAS I imagine Basel will be the last tournament he ever plays on the tour, I was referring to as WHEN the announcement will be made. He could announce it one year in Basel, play a full season and then retire at Basel again the following season, I can see that happening.

It happened like 5-7 years ago, it was some ATP 250 or 500 clay court tournament. I don't remember who won it but the closing ceremony was INCREDIBLY long, before they presented the trophy several people gave speeches and one of them was absurdly long. I remember that someone from the team of the tournament winner was jokingly pointing at his watch.
I remember I laughed like crazy.

Novak 2015 FO final definitely the most truly emotional moment in tennis history
I honestly feel it should Federer 2009. He had lost all hope, just lost 3 slam finals to Nadal, he was done mentally. Then Madrid and French Open then Wimbledon.
2015 FO was sad but it was known that Djokovic would eventually win, but I understand. He finally defeated Nadal, something he couldn't do thrice, but lost to Wawrinka.

Murray's 2012 final speech and Novak 2016 olmypics lost are the most the painful moments to watch in Tennis.
Number 1 is well deserved, but I'd put Novak's loss to Wawrinka at the 2015 French Open somewhere there. He overcame the biggest hurdle in getting the Career Slam by defeating Nadal, only to lose to someone else in the final. For people who are his fans, we teared up with him at the trophy presentation because many of us thought, this might be one of his only chances, as Rafa winning the French is the closest thing to a certainty in Tennis. Well, thank goodness for 2016 and 2021 but 2015 really was devastating.
