Dear Lena - I am so drawn to your incredibly beautiful watercolours and have watched all 5 - now 6 - of your videos scores of times and studied your technique. You make it look so effortless and easy which invariably means there's a master at work. Thank you all the way from Aoteaeoa/ New Zealand for sharing your work and for inspiring an aspiring hobby artist who may be more passionate and dedicated than she is actually capable but at 54 I am a late starter! One last request - can you please keep making more posts. You and your artistry are amazing.
Thank you very much Sharon. I am happy that you like my videos! All my best wishes here from Copenhagen. And the just start - better today than tomorrow!!
Dear Lena thanks for the video. I watch you from Toronto Canada. I see people from all over the world watch your demonstrations. You are indeed an inspiration for all of us.
I like the way you just throw the tape away.
That was my favourite part -- the throwing of the tape!! Well, other than the painting. omg she's incredible. The textures she achieves are truly awesome...in the true sense of the word.
Yep! me too because you find the same bold and assertive movement in the painting
Dear Lena - I am so impressed with your paintings and amazing technique. You use incredible colors. Fantastic work!!!
Another beautiful painting - I love watching you play and create amazing, atmospheric landscapes by letting the watercolor flow! You make it look so easy, but I tried it, and it‘s not easy at all - but fun!
Rear Eva. I have been painting this way since 1990. You just have to keep on working and you shall paint great watercolours. Have fun!!
Lena, Happy New Year! Thank you for posting another video of you working. Everything you create is beautiful. Because I've tried your techniques, I know how difficult it is to work in this way. You are an inspiration. Now I'm going to watch the video again.
Thank you for the inspiration and the joy of watching you create such beauty. Glad I found your site.
Love watching the way you paint. You are an inspiration to all of us that use watercolors. I have watched all of your videos and keep looking for more.
Love your work! The results are stunning!! Is this cardboard you are working on acid free mounting board or another type of board? I have not seen anything like this description in the US. We have 300 and 600 CP watercolor paper, such as Arches, which might be sturdy enough for all that water in your technique.
Thank you Pamela. It is not watercolour paper. I don't know what it is called in other countries than Denmark. The supplier had written a lot of details in hope, that it could help other people abroad.
It's cardboard according to the description box. I've tried Arches and the results arent the same.
I'm inspired by the beautiful way you allow the paint to flow......with your magical ability to direct and control it. Thank you for your videos.
Love your atmospheric landscapes, do you use water in a spray bottle?
Thank you Lena. Marvelous work! I am intrigued by the green painting behind you in the beginning of the video. I would love to see you do one like this for us.
Thank you. The green painting is 110 cm long. I only put it there to make the video more quiet. There is a painting behind, that one of my friends has made.
Wonderful technique.... I'm not familiar with acid free cardboard for watercolor painting. I can only find acid free cardboard frames (mat boards for framing art) on Amazon and other North America sites, especially that large size. Does anyone know if this the same as cardstock (less porous than watercolor paper)??
Thank you. Many have written to me, that Yupo might be a good substitute for my cardboard. But I have not tried Yupo and I think it is much more expensive!
That's darn good amazing!!!! Thank for showing a more raw watercolor World, had never seen these Technics!
What sort of paper is it that scrapes back to white? I have seen you reference clay coated paper previously but I don’t find that available at Blick or online. The link shared goes to a non-english site for the cardboard. Thank you for sharing your art and techniques, truly inspiring and lovely color choices!
It is a kind of cardboard not made for watercolour painting at all. In Danish we call it chalked paper because it is cover with a thin layer of chalk. And I gave you the link to the Danish firm where I buy it. They write only in Danish.
Helt fantastiske billeder du laver!! Og dine klippestrukturer er så spændende og tredimensionelle. Jeg er stor fan!!! Hvilken type papir bruger du, som kan klare de store mængder vand?
Tak skal du ha'!! Se linket lige under videoen. Jeg har ikke kunnet skaffe dette karton andre steder.
Thank you for creating this. Your style and results - just love it. And the music very pleasing to go along with it. Please keep making these if you find the time. So appreciated. And any tips you can provide for creating this style so appreciated. Happy painting. John
Thank you Lena for sharing, I love your watercolour style very much...🕊 💕 💕 💕
You have created a beautiful salute to watercolor painting at its best! Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful painting. You have talent. I learned very much. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Lena! You've made my day today! Thank you for sharing another wonderful video of your work. I love that green one in the background. I love those shades of green. Al the best to you, Janet
I watched it again today, and yesterday and the day before, it today I saw some things that I didn’t see until now. All the card scraping! I use 100% cotton paper and worry that it would not hold up very well to the scraping. I’m still on the lookout for clay paper. I believe that is what you use. I will keep searching! Love to see you do your thing with water and paint. Love, love, love your work.
Hi Lena, I love your work, I notice in most of your video's that you have 2 containers are they both water, or do you use some other medium.
Thank you Denise. One is usually with dirty water. It enables me to se where I put the water on the paper. The other one is always with clean water. If you i.e. use yellow, the water must be completely clean!
@@lenagemze662 Thanks Lena, keep making the video's they are great to watch.
Thank you for another interesting, informative, and exciting video. It's a pleasure to watch your skilful and masterful approach to producing such truly amazing artwork. Much appreciated. Thank you, Lena. :)
Hi, I'm Adil Mubeen from Kashmir and I liked this video specially the technique, the way you are doing water colour paintings , fantastic work of art. Thank you very much for providing us such a wonderful video. God bless you.
Dear Adil. Thank you for your nice words! And bless you too. Lena from Copenhagen.
Gorgeous! So glad I discovered you!
So beautiful. Would you pls tell me what weight canvas you used. It does look like a board, pls clarify.
490 g - it is cardboard. You can reed about it on the link on top here right under the video. Maybe you can understand some of it even it is in Danish!
Hey! ... what a magic credit-card you have! ;-) ... I see 'high skills' when you work ... there is space for the 'unexpected' ... it goes that way 'less is more' ... you have a clear focused instinct in your working ... your results are unique ... GREAT! ... SALUT from Austria!
I really like your work but may I ask if you moister the back of the watercolor paper before you start working on the front?
Do you have a subject/theme in mind before you start a painting? Love the effects you get with these techniques!
Lena. I am so inspired by you. Can you please tell me what kind of paper works best for this technique? Much appreciated. Barbara fro Canada.
Wondering the same. I would think 100% cotton of course and maybe a good heavy 300lb? Arches. Hope she replies.
I use a kind of cardboard 770 g, not specially made for watercolour paintings. In Denmark I buy it here (and they also have a description: www.easytech.dk/shop/syrefri-karton-1-7587p.html
Fantastic. Absolutely beautiful work. Thank you for sharing.
❤
Absolutely stunning! I love your technique! I just found your video and believe I've found a gold mine of an Artists! I'll be going back to watch your other videos. Please continue to make more. 😊🤗
@@lenagemze662 It is a fascinating event. I discovered you now... when listening to song of Tears For Fears...it's amazing music. Please continue...
I love your fling of the masking tape.
What size and fibre/hair type is in the large mottler brush you use to wet the paper initially? Ah sorry just saw description. Is it goat hair. looks like a 4 inch?
It is only 2 1/2" but I often use one bigger 4". They are made of goat hair because it holds a lot of water. I bought them in a shop in Berlin.
Hello from Canada. Could you please tell me what kind of paper you are using and how it can handle all that water? I’m new to this and you have inspired me tremendously. Beautiful 🥰
I use a kind of acidfree cardboard. Look right under the video, where I have written some information. Thank you to you here from Copenhagen.
You are so inspiring. Beautiful. Warm wishes from Minnesota! ❤️❤️❤️
What weight of paper do you use? Wonderful art!,!!
Absolutely stunning your technique! These gravity portraits are unique! Thanks for sharing! LOVE FOR LENA 😍
wow beautiful! Is that on Yupo paper?
Thank you. No, it is not Yupo. If you click the link, there is a description, but I don't know what it is called in other countries. But Yupo is worth trying out I guess!
Toujours aussi fascinant! j'adore votre style libre et créatif. Merci pour cette vidéo, on en souhaiterai beaucoup et souvent.
What a refreshing technique!!! I must try it!! You are a true inspiration. I was wondering if you ever dry it and do a second layer or its just the first one and done? Thank you!!
Thank you Maribel! Some times I dry and put on more layers. In fact I never really had a system. I'm always experimenting.
Fantastic and dramatic iced landscape! Bellissimo! Greetings from Firenze
Ravie de voir une nouvelle vidéo! Magnifique travail de textures, j'aime toujours autant votre style! Salutations artistiques de France...
I've tried this, sometimes I get a good picture sometimes it's rubbish! Lol! Thanks for sharing your technique.
Lena...love your work...just stunning. Please tell me what WC paper are you using?
Love it!
Tossing the tape in the beginning cracked me up😆. Love these videos
Brilliant! I love your work, Lena. Just a comment, since watercolours dry much lighter, it would be great to see the finished piece in its dry state. Just a thought.
Is this the board that you use from easy tech?
Estelle, I did not finish the description: 72 x 102 cm, white, 0.6, 490 grams
AN1043534...... If so where can I get it the States, or similar. Have never seen it sold here.
@@estellebernot9471 Thank you for your interest. Sorry, I don't know where to get it elsewhere. I had a lot of work myself to find the supplier, and at last when I found him, I shared the address right away.
Incredible!
what a surprising technique! thank you for sharing, your result turn out fanstastic!
More videos please! I love your work and have been trying your technique. It's so much harder than it looks.
Hi Lena. Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing your beautiful, inspirational videos. I love your work. Please could you tell me if you have to use a fixative on the ones painted on cardboard? I would love to see more videos from you. You make it look so easy.😊
Thank you for watching. Yes I use Fixative for watercolour paintings when I use the cardboard, because the colours don't go inside the paper like it does on watercolour paper.
Wonderfully, I like it very much 💗
Wow!!
WOW!
Beautiful , really fascinating watching you create . Can you please tell what paper you are using ? Thankyou
it is cardboard 490 g. Not made for watercolour. It is blank but not shining. It makes the water run very fast.
just WONDERFUL !
Wow!! You’re my new inspiration Lena!! Just so unique and creative. I can’t find that weight of cardboard in Canada but I’m going to try using 140-300 pound watercolour paper. Thanks❤️🇨🇦
After a lot of trys, with 140 cold press, I've had relative success. Now on to 300# cold press. The first efforts turned out to be an exhibition of mud on paper. I can't find anywhere in California, the cardboard that you use, not even online. Your work is spectacular.
What a fantastic gimmick it looks so real
beautiful painting !!!
So beautiful!!!!!!
Beautiful art.
Fantastic 👍.
Stunning!
Amazing watercolor
당신의 수채화는 너무아름답고
열정이 있다
Great work, great presentation. Waiting for good videos, good videos are worth looking forward to, like every time!
It’s amazing 🤩
What type of paper is being used?
It is acidfree cardboard either 470g or 770 - there is a link to the shop right under the video. Maybe the description there can help you find it. Else you can get it in all common paper stores or artstores.
Hello Lena. Your work is very creative and very special. I was wondering if you ever speak to give an introduction as to what type of landscape you would be preparing to do. Can you show more clearly how you manipulate the colours across the page. I have been painting for 20 years and have never had as beautiful affects as you get. Thank you for sharing your demonstrations. I just joined your subscription and can appreciate your hard wrk and all your expertise. Elaine Mandell in Toronto, Ontario Canada
Elaine Mandell Thank you Elaine.
The answer is water water water water lots of water! I don't know how to describe what I'm doing I find it more easy for others to see it instead.
Just love the spontaneous way you paint Lena, the passion, your heart and soul that you put into every one of these stunning creations shines through, blown away and mesmerized by your technique..
Thank you Maxine!!
