I was lucky, my first rock concert was that of Dire Straits, in the summer of 1981 at the Vigorelli in Milan. I was 15 years old but I had already listened to their first album Dire Straits years before, thanks to older friends.

7:07 Created by a fascinating, now “retired” CZcamsr, there is a “chord analyzer” app called Oolimo which suggests that the chord may be either a Csus2(add#11), D11/C, Gmaj7sus/C or some crazy F# variation. It is by no means definitive, just suggestive, and I haven’t experimented yet to see how these voicings may sound elsewhere around the fretboard, but the shape you have sounds fantastic. I wonder - we all wonder - how Mark plays it, and it may be worth combing (so to speak) through some live versions of the song to see how Mark or Richard finger it. Another great video! I am sorry I missed it live.
Interesting! Thank you for the app suggestion. This song was never performed live though. So the only chance to know it is to ask MK directly.
@@PavelFomenkov Indeed, I went to look for a live version (I thought they performed live on Ismus - have you seen that performance? (very interesting)) and, you are right, it was not performed live (on that note, it is interesting that Communique was never performed live and my three favorite MK tunes - Silvertown Blues, 5.15am and the Trawlerman’s song, rarely.) Oliver Mochmann, a German (I presume) guitarist created the app, then disappeared from CZcams soon after. It’s a wonderful app, no add ons, clean and thoughtful.
