    That was fun to watch how the property evolved. I know what you mean by “bittersweet” as I had 69 acres I used to mow for a neighbor. When I started, it had cedar and locust saplings (along with shoemake) that had really taken hold. After 2 or 3 years of bushhogging, the saplings were dead & gone - even the regular weeds were few and far between. That neighbor died and his widow has no interest in my maintaining it. I hate to think of the shape it is in now. It almost gets to where it’s like it’s your land as you get protective over it (because I put a lot of sweat and hours in it).

    Good ending to the story. Would love a video on the fundamentals of cutting hay. I have never done it before, but I operated a 5075E tractor on a horse farm in Franklin, TN and have been missing it.

    Great video. How are you liking the 5075E? I'm in the market for a tractor and I'm looking at a 5075E and Kubota M7060. The new 5075E's apparently don't have regen so that is a plus for me, any info is appreciated!

      I’m my opinion the 5075e is a much better tractor than the M7060. If your going to finance it, I think you’ll like John Deere insurance better than kubota’s. Even if your paying cash I think you’ll like JD’s insurance better. That being said, I really like the tractor still. I am in the need for something bigger for a hay tractor. So unfortunately the 5075e may be leaving the farm. To answer your question, the M7060 is underpowered compared to the 5075e. Hope this helps.

    I have probably a dumb question but i upgraded my hydrostatic to a power reverser deere and i set my pto speed at 540 and start mowing but i notice it fluctuates as im mowing. Is that normal? My hydrostatic stayed at 540

    • @theweekendfarmer7513
      @theweekendfarmer7513  Před rokem

      It’s normal for it to fluctuate a little down to 530-520 as thicker grass is pulling the engine down. If it’s fluctuating more than that you may have a problem. Also with the hydrostatic you were probably more likely to slow down in thicker grass.
