Dr. Sumer sir saying about how we choose a branch only because we like the sound of it and like talking about it says a lot about how our decisions are still being affected by society. One more example i would like to add is people telling male doctors taking obgyn and female doctors taking up orthopaedics and urology that they won't find a spouse or they might lose interest in the opposite gender, i know it might sound silly to a lot but i have seen people changing their branches for this reason and regretting later.

Thanks to both of you. You guys actually made so much sense to me , which no other video could do. I am just an aspirant but I keep thinking may be a part of me doesn’t want to do specialisation. But after listening to this session I have a purpose . That sense of responsibility and why .. thank you for sharing this . ❤

Sir and Ma'am you did a great job in counselling here. Really thankful to you. This video was very relevant and answered very important questions. Ii do have one query though (may sound silly) Is height a factor before taking up orthopaedics for a female? (I'm 5'2" and Ive had seniors telling me that ortho people should be huge giant like figures!) Can you please give me advice regarding that. I'm not a weak person, I lift weights and have assisted in ortho and never felt anything was out of my physical capabilities. please give advice.
