I know of a dog in L.A. County that died from this illness. A healthy 5-year old who had not been boarded or gone to the groomer's or dog parks, but did frequent "regular" parks. She went downhill in a matter of days and they couldn't save her. Tragic and beyond sad.

This is exactly what happened to my dog-started w dry cough, fever, leaky nose-seemed to get better, then got A LOT WORSE. Got kicked out of 2 vets offices when they were blowing me off and I insisted it’s not heart cough. Almost had to take her to Blue Pearl a couple times but she stabilized (the diuretic does seem to help when it’s looking super scary)

Just watched another video & after several weeks of treatment it wasn't better. Vet then prescribed an inhaler as in human inhaler. Dog got better in 2 days! Worth a try!

I''ve known Karl Jandrey for many years, while he has been at the ER/ICU at the UC Davis Vet Med Teaching Hospital. this is an excellent talk, with plenty of clear common sense advice. and poinint out that there is much we don't know yet about this illness.

Please consider the new particulate matter that is carried by the wind. For the past few years permafrost has been melting and there have been large wild fires in Siberia introducing "new" particulate matter in the wind. US west coast receives that wind. peace&love

I think our dog and cat have/ had it for quite awhile. The vet said the cat had pneumonia and asthma. Medicated. Used Flocanais. Hasn't helped, it is now seemingly chronic in both.

My dog has had something similar for 5 years!! now i've had different Vets say maybe Asthma Chronic Bronchitis brought on by bad allergies?? Honestly they all seamed confused. but the symptoms are very similar to this!! He has been on inhaled steroids, for 5 years the only thing that works..

I swear my newest young rescue from the local shelter brought it home to my other older dogs. He being so young didn't show symptoms until he started running around after recovering from being shelter shocked. I'm in Hawaii so pretty isolated otherwise. SCARY STUFF

My dog was diagnosed with it this morning.

When it comes to parks, I don’t take mine to a dog park, just a regular park but there’s a lot of dogs walked there too. I’d they say parks because it’s nose to nose type of contact? Or could it be spread by smelling of another’s dogs urine?

All I know is my little rescue dog from Baltimore died from this disease. It happened so fast. Vet did not recognize it. Gave him antibiotics. He died within 24 hours of seeing the vet. Now vet believes he had.the disease.
