- I made a new tutorial series for marble racing. This series will teach you thoroughly about making a marble race. The series will be divided into three levels: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
This tutorial covers the basic aspects of the marble. Later on, there will be a tutorial more in-depth about the marble (Velocity and stuff)

I think it's important to know the physical properties of the marbles as well as the track. What might those be? (As in, restitution, friction, etc.)

Yes, I guess. As long as you use 0.6 to 1.0 zoom

What is the In The End remix in the background?
Ok, I get that the marble size makes it "bouncy" (yes I listened to the start of the video), but how do you make it as bouncy as in the video later on (Example when you showed what happens with the fade time if it's too long, it was EXTREMELY bouncy!)?
+Chappy Does Gaming (WALMART PACMAN!) I may have used the wrong terminology-- the marble size affects the reacting time of the marbles. If a marble is big, it will fall slowly, and not move as quickly. Bounciness is depended on restitution. (I was going to explain that in my later video on Marbles) Restitution is found in Edit < Material.
Oh, and the marbles weren't extremely bouncy, it was just because my drag strength was too strong. It was at ten million, lol. xD

To stop your objects spawning in random colors, you just tap on the background one time, then press the paint palette button on the right, then add the color you want the object color to be and your done, have fun!

To make a marble on mobile, you do everything the same, until the hiding the tracer part, to hide the tracer, you use a marble of the same color, and put it over the other marble, and glue them together

Those are images. Just make a circle image .png file and you can insert them onto Algodoo.
Do I have to have a photo editing software to make it a circle? I only have MS Paint at the moment. And how do I insert them?
Tubspikes I would most recommend Paint.NET. You cannot have transparent backgrounds in MS Paint. On Algodoo, look on the very left side. You will see four folders aligned vertically. Click the third one where it says "components", and browse for your image.

control c and control v a picture from google images to algodoo, then make sure you uncheck every collision layer, make the density .5 to 1 and attach it to the marble with the geometry action glue together. i believe thats it

You increase the restitution. This had been said in the video.
If the tracer is the same color as the original color, how can we change it.
Send the marble layer to the back, change the color of the tracer, then send the tracer layer to the back.

PD: i use unity insted of algodoo, but the idea is the same!
i know how to make a devider 1st make a giant sqare, 2nd make a circle 3rd conect the shapes 4th attach the shapes togeter 5th use the shape tool and make a triangle 6th conect the triangle, and there you have it.

Hey, Algorox you probably won't see this comment but I want to ask if you know a good way to make the camera follow the marbles without it just following one? I was thinking about doing this for yt.
You can make the camera follow all the marbles, and the position of the camera will depend on the algebraic sum of all the positions of the marbles.
That makes the camera shake a bunch and it spins like crazy before I destroy the thing at the beginning is there a way to pan the view with keyboard shortcuts?. Also thanks for replying to my comment Algorox. [:

@@Ciurk The way I do it, and the best way in my opinion, is to move the camera manually. It's probably the only reliable and consistent way to follow and include all the marbles in the screen at all times. There is a way to control the camera smoothly and without using the mouse. Create a large invisible box, get the camera to follow it, do not glue it to the background, set its density to 0.01, and set a geometry controller for it (in Edit < Controller). You can use the arrow keys, WASD, or whatever else. This way you can manually move the camera using those keys. Zooming in and out has to be done with the mouse, still.

Click Script Menu
Find Color HSVA
Change the first 0 to exactly sim.time*100
Done!
