I used to have a colony of around 3000 .For their size they will have a go at anything including their keeper lol and they are great at chewing through most things like vinyl tubing or wood E.T.C. Unfortunately i lost my colony in a garage fire. Fantastic little ants they will keep you on your toes.
Thank you for the video. I’d like to know more about their geographic boundaries. Also, any advice if you don’t want them in your home but you do appreciate and respect their value and contributions to the ecosystem. I’d much prefer these creatures to the termites and wasps they hunt.
I just had my first 2 nanitics of Crematogaster Ashmeadi arrive 2 days ago, 3 more yesterday, one more today, and what appears will be 2 more tomorrow. 😎 👍🏼
@@donnagerudah5634 we've got them around our house in Ky, if not them then something just like them because they stick their butts up in the air and sting you if you pick them up
In my experience no! But I'm sure others would say differently, as you may have learnt these ants have a tactic to threaten by pointing their abdomen up to appear larger.
For such a small species they hunt quite a lot, wasps, termites and moths
You have a praying mantis, thats so cool

I'm honesty curious as I keep ants myself and would like to know how you do this: how exactly do you count 3,000 ants at least somewhat accurately?
Their gaster is honestly the best
I know they are so cool and pointy

Is it true if you get one queen literally four weeks later, you will have 500 workers?
