Ben such a humble dude. An absolute player. Everyone should check out the new ATW album. And the rest of their catalog is stellar
Fr ATW has not dissappointed in any album. One of the best active bands, and my favorite. I rate Ben a lot too, he is also one of my favs and inspire me to pick up the guitar again.
I haven't vibed to anything more then ATW. Especially to "Blood Sand/ Milk and Endless waters."
It's funny when Ben mentions his guitar influences and "how a lick would end up in a different place each night. "
None if ATW live versions even sound 2 of the same. Always different. I really love that . If you can try look up ATW live clip, search All them witches MY SHOW LIVE .
@@jaimecucalon2804 I PLAY GUITAR AGAIN FOR BEN TOO!
@underdavid even began to learn slide. I suck at it hahah but it's fun
Ahhh, when he played the notes from the opening to Workhorse. That is a killer tune.
My favourite song from them.
This guy is a worthy player of Duane's guitar.
Agreed.
Nope

@@mynameiskyleabent those who say no really dont know music very well
No Derek Trucks is
Duane is the whole reason I play. Me and my dad listened to ABB every week too. Only my Daddy went 1 step further. He bestowed me with the greatest middle name an ABB fan could have.
For my entire life, I've shared the middle name Duane with the greatest guitar player that ever lived. And I couldn't be prouder of that fact.
Listening to Ben, he obviously sees and thinks of Duane EXACTLY the same as I do. He approaches his music just like I do... What would Duane do? I knew it when I listened to Ben. I could tell from the get go that he is HEAVILY, HEAVILY, HEAVILY influenced by Duane. I just didn't realize exactly how much until now. I could tell me and Ben would be great friends, talking about Duane and his phenomenal playing nonstop. LOVE YA, BEN! #TheRoadGoesOnForever #HittinTheNote #AllmanBrothersBand #AllThemWitches #BenMcLeod #DuaneAllmanGibsonSg #SongbirdsFoundation #StatesboroBlues
Man i love this guy. Not a flashy player 99% of the time but he can hunt heads if he wants to.
I’m sure Ben’s been a bad ass on the guitar since the early days. - As a long time fan of ATW, dude Just keeps getting better and better. Him and Parks are so damn tight.
Ben is quickly becoming a legend.
That entire thing had such legit vibe and it's clear he's a devotee to the master. I guess it's time to go check out All Them Witches...
I recommend their live performance on KEXP from last year
@@TheChadPad Thanks
New album is incredible. Nothins as the ideal
I'm a big fan of Duane's....gonna have to check out "All Them Witches" as well.
@@robotpizza I did that night and the last few since. They are very good.
Duane is someone who will always be on top in my music list
Neat that it's being played, rather than kept in a display case!
Too bad this place is closing. I'd have loved to go see it. Such a cool video once again. Looking forward to more.
Wait, what place is closing?
It's just a lost gem now! I've so many memories there and it's broke my heart they have closed! But hope the best for the foundation part! Just a terrible thing cause of covid 19.
Cool stuff here tho.!
WOW... after all these years seeing and hearing Duane's SG. Super Tone Axe..!!! I have a 1967 SG that I cherish....
Now, there's a true musician appreciating a beautiful guitar.
Cheers
*Rips it* "Just gettin the feel for it" Buddy I'd say you've got it
I'll what made me get into Duane?"Live at Ludlow-Mountain Jam".Some of the extremely quiet slide parts where he would turn the guitar's volume down, use the neck pickup, hardly any breakup,&play real minimal, quiet slide notes played with his finger.
Agreed I spent my adolescence listening to live at Ludlow damn near every afternoon after school that version of mountain jam is one of my favorites perhaps they could have been inspired that night by the "electric wine" duane talks about after finishing hoochie coochie man
Love bumping atw on long car trips through mountains of deserts.
Great video, but very surprising he was so into Duane and yet this is the first time he has played an SG. Glad I found this. He is an awesome player!
2 friends of mine had those SGs in High School in 61....yeppers, Imma old country Hippie
So cool man
Bet they wish they would have kept it
A beautiful Guitar and a guy with a beautiful touch!!
That was awesome!
love the Worhorse instant; awesome playing as always Ben
This guy REALLY gets it! Good job, man!
I saw the Allmans in Tully Gym on the Florida State University campus, somewhere around 1970 or '71 when they opened for Frank Zappa. I didn't know one guitar player from the other, but I said to myself, "That guy with the red guitar is the one."
The Allman Brothers Band was the best American Southern Rock/Blues Band ever. Duane Allman and Dickie Betts were phenomenal players, they were heaven sent. Still today some of the guitar licks gives me cold chills and a spiritual blessing. Fillmore East is my favorite album. Gregg is one of the best blues vocalist of all time and he could play amazing keyboards, there are a couple of studio recordings where he plays the heck out of the guitar with fantastic skills plus recording his vocals. ABB had some great musicians and always put on a great show.
I've always thought of ATW as a heavier Allman Bros...awesome to see this
First time I have ever been a first comment. So sorry you had to close the museum. We were lucky enough to visit 2 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you still have any T-shirts, we would be interested!
Wait, what museum closed? Not the Big House in Georgia...it's still very much open
@@robotpizza Songsbirds Guitar Museum in Chattanooga
Badass as hell 😎
So that's the "From one brother to another" SG? WOW!
It's pretty crazy that they did a Signature version of this and then Derek Trucks' Signature SG is a modded version of that guitar.
Saw Duane play three times before he passed...he was special.....no body plays like him ..... Jack Pearson was the closest I've ever heard....
Great Playing! .... Also! I have one of those H303A's! I have its big brother with the 12" speaker as well.. Super Under-Rated USA Made Tube amps!
Id like to see Warren Haynes take a turn on that bad boy.
Same
well this video has 999 likes so well, let's go
also this is awesome
I have always stood by the fact that Duane's tone was in his hands.I'm still going to stand by it to an extent, but this particular guitar I don't really think it matters too much.If he would turn the guitar's volume down a bit,A good enough slide player, playing it they imitate Duane & and it's close enough to fool me.
I was getting worried because my standard 2019 Sg has a louder neck pick up
This one is the same?!
Memo Gamboa it doesn’t mean anything bad u just got lucky!
Wonderful playing! He is obviously deeply influenced by the greatest such as CAT!!!!
Need a go fund me to put this in Derek's hands
you would think Derek has the cash....?
Derek has an SG, and to make it that more special to Duane's, it's the next in sequence of serial numbering
@@robotpizza That’s his Goldtop, not his SG. His SG is a repro of this SG… no way they’d be close serial numbers lol.
F yes he is.
I thought the bridge pickup sounded amazing...then he switched to the neck...oh my goodness.
What happened to his Statesboro video?
It’s coming. Had to post it separately due to some copyright issues. Coming Monday
@@SongbirdsFoundation Is it still coming? Thanks!
Treats ..
Hey! That's not a Coricidon bottle!!!! You just can't get the exact tone without it. Shame the cold remedy is in plastic bottles these days!
Someone get this man a pill bottle
Saturday was Filmore East...like everything in my life is, like....Filmore east...even tho they play it different every night since...like, Filmore East is...like...everything to me...like...
Hey man, I'd like to see you try and talk while holding a guitar that Duane played. I don't even consider myself in the same league as the other guitarists who have played this guitar in these Vault Sessions. The fact that I was there was a dream come true, and I could not conduct a single sentence that made any sense. But I got to play Duane's guitar...did you?
Slim and narrow neck does not necessarily mean 'faster'. This suggestion has become a very misleading trend. It's a fallacy. Fight me.
very weak from a creative standpoint. What I'm saying is; I wished he would explain more about his playing style and showing how to..! He obviousl knows everything there is to know about Duane;s playing.. Great player no doubt. I wished I could play like him, I would use it like the devil himself! lol
