Good review! I just bought my brother in law's 1994 Honda Shadow 600, with 8,000 miles. I just got my license last year but haven't owned nor rode a motorcycle for 6 months. I did test ride his bike and loved it and now I own it!
*So I've never rode a motorcycle before. Finally pulled the trigger and got me a 2005 Honda shadow vlx. Really wanted to get a ninja but my budget was limited. Was told the shadow is a great learning bike. I got it for $650. Everything works fine as I know of, but when I saw it in person... Yeah, I feel a little intimidated to even get on this thing. You all think it's a smaller bike but to me it's fucking huge* 😂😂
It's small if you're used to motorcycles but it's not really small at all. There are much smaller bikes to learn on but this is one that you could hold onto without getting bored. Unless you're doing huge stretches on the highway, this can do it all in comfort. Your local MSF course should have some smaller bikes for you to learn skills on. Pass that course and you should be able to at least take your Shadow to a parking lot to practice with confidence.

@@DarksideSleemo yes sir. The Honda looked bad ass though and I didn't want to work on my very first bike before I could ride it ya know? Not the best mechanically speaking just wanted something that runs and is reliable. I love the bike. Ended up selling for $1500 😂 still can't believe the profit I made on that shadow. Also I've never driven a manual car before so I'm new to clutches and shifting gears. I'm horrible at the moment at down shifting my back wheel keeps locking up but I'm getting smoother at up shifting for sure. I got a 2011 kawasaki ninja 250 all black to be exact for $2000. I currently don't have the extra money to take a motorcycle class and I don't have any friends or family who ride so I'm kinda learning on my own as I go
Cut up an old inner tube into 1" strips. Use the strips to take up the excess room around the rubber stops. Tires cupping might be the rear wheel misaligned.
I have a 1997. besides the side mounts at the front of the tank, there is a rubber piece that fits under the metal tank attachment at the back as well as a washer under the screw that holds it all together. The rubber part can break into pieces and then the tank will ride loose. Maybe that has happened to you.
I have the same bike but a 1998. It can run on the highway all day without a problem. No over heating and enough power accelerate and pass while cruising at 75. All around good bike

I like your videos and please keep them coming. Just please do not kill any dogs. I realize they can be annoying to bike riders and the owners should keep them off the road but they are part of someone's family. Just my two cents as both a bike and dog lover. Thanks for sharing.

I haven't touched my 03 ACE 750 in 15 yrs. other than the fuel pump.
The tank on my 99 600 rattles a little too, screws hand tight
Take some foam tape and put on the frame under the tank that will stop the rattle!
