I enjoyed this video, this was inexspensive, and easy instructions to follow. The edging looks very neat, and it complements the garden. Thank you for sharing this video!!great job!..from Phx,Az USA.
Do you think I can still use this method without having paving slabs? I.e just to edge grass. Or do the paving slabs give extra support? Thanks! Ps this is the simplest method I've seen that I feel confident to do! Thanks
Hi, if the board is pegged well enough then it is no problem having a grass edge. Decent decking is pretty stiff so wouldn't bend if well supported. This border is still looking good nearly four years after making it and the board wasn't new then. Happy creating!
@@UcanDOit2 thank you so much for replying! I'm going to give this a try over the weekend. Now we're in lockdown not much else to do! Amazing its lasted so long 🙌🏽
I've just had wooden decking put down and have some off cuts for edging. Would it be ok to place the decking edge on top of the decking and screw to the wooden stake instead of putting it in the soil ?
Very easy to follow the video. By far, the easiest and simple instructions.

Thank you so much for this video! We just spent an hour making ours and it looks amazing :)
So glad that it's helpful, ours is still going strong.
looks really good! great job explaining thank you (from the East Coast in USA)
There’s a lot good thing to learn in CZcams
Thanks for share👍
Thank you, this helped me solve the puzzle of how to edge a border I wanted to create, and today I made it just like this!
Wonderful!
Looks great 👍
Looks great
Handy tips, will be doing this next week. thanks
Love it. 👏🏾
I use decking for lots of jobs around my garden. I paint them with Cuprinol Garden Shades to protect them further.
Good work thank you
How long will that old decking piece last before it.rots?
Where are you? Those seagulls sound wonderful. they always remind me of my childhood holidays.
In Cumbria!

Very well explained. If I used longer pegs, would there be any problems with putting on another row of decking wood on top?
Longer pegs would allow a higher board but would probably need to be thicker timber for strength. Thanks for your comment.

Absolutely, as long as the support stakes are firmly anchored.
Good vid. Is the decking 4 X 2 ?
The decking boards are 6 x 1 1/2
great video, only question, will the pegs rot?
Hi, if you use treated wood then they should last around ten years, depends on the ground conditions.
@@UcanDOit2 Thank you!!
I bought some pine decking that's described as being pressure treated? Do I also need to treat it with a stain/preservative?
You don’t have to treat it but it will extend the lifespan a bit, don’t forget to coat all surfaces!
Isnt that just going to rot away at the base?
Use pressure treated wood and it will last a fair while.
Great idea. Can you post the product link for the decking wood.

Lee Evans does questionable DIY.
😂
What distance do you space the pegs?
About 2ft, 600mm depending on the length of board and thickness.

This will bow in time and look awful!
paulkazjack It has been there for nearly two years and still looks great, use decent, treated wood not cheap stuff.
