    Very easy to follow the video. By far, the easiest and simple instructions.

    I use decking for lots of jobs around my garden. I paint them with Cuprinol Garden Shades to protect them further.

    Do you think I can still use this method without having paving slabs? I.e just to edge grass. Or do the paving slabs give extra support? Thanks!
    Ps this is the simplest method I've seen that I feel confident to do! Thanks

      Hi, if the board is pegged well enough then it is no problem having a grass edge. Decent decking is pretty stiff so wouldn't bend if well supported. This border is still looking good nearly four years after making it and the board wasn't new then. Happy creating!

    Very well explained. If I used longer pegs, would there be any problems with putting on another row of decking wood on top?

    • @UcanDOit2
      @UcanDOit2  Před 3 lety

      Longer pegs would allow a higher board but would probably need to be thicker timber for strength. Thanks for your comment.

    I've just had wooden decking put down and have some off cuts for edging.
    Would it be ok to place the decking edge on top of the decking and screw to the wooden stake instead of putting it in the soil ?

    • @UcanDOit2
      @UcanDOit2  Před 3 lety +1

      Absolutely, as long as the support stakes are firmly anchored.

    • @UcanDOit2
      @UcanDOit2  Před 3 lety

      Hi, if you use treated wood then they should last around ten years, depends on the ground conditions.

    I bought some pine decking that's described as being pressure treated? Do I also need to treat it with a stain/preservative?

    • @UcanDOit2
      @UcanDOit2  Před 11 měsíci

      You don’t have to treat it but it will extend the lifespan a bit, don’t forget to coat all surfaces!

  • @colewilliams3437
    @colewilliams3437 Před 5 lety +2

    Isnt that just going to rot away at the base?

    • @UcanDOit2

      Use pressure treated wood and it will last a fair while.
