I mean yah...SL as a story in mid or above average at best (yes, for most people who consumes manhwas for a long time would accept this). What made SL where it is now was some God-tier panels and amazing fighting sequences.
SUng-rak is a legend who kinda put manhwas to much more global spotlight and his art becam the backbone of Redice Studio.
Story is not going to be ground breaking but art style and fight sequences is god tier. Panels are jaw dropping and gorgeous

The story is actually quite meh and all over the place, but for some reason it is still incredibly engaging. I've read it twice and enjoyed it even though I found faults at almost every junction.
(Main one: Mc becomes op way too quickly)

@@Fernando-ek8jp fr, i reread the manwha yesterday just cause and after he hit level 100 he kind of was like "yooo im finally level 100" then like 3 chapters later he was already 130 so it just took away from the whole "no way im level 100" feel

And it's not like you can't handle that. Look at One Punch Man. You know he's gonna win, so why not focus on the growth of other characters? Why not play with the fact that the Mc is going to be op. What kills me is that it wants to build up the story of the Mc getting stronger as something amazing, but then it just happens.
This is the second time in 20 years (I'm 31 but my first anime was in 98 and first manga in 03) that I read it before it was announced to be adapted, and I'm so excited about that

What I loved the most about solo leveling is that all the craziness and things that make skeptics roll there eyes, "Oh he is the only one that levels up?" "Oh now he and only he has this super OP ability?" All of these end up being lore related and actually crucial at the end game. Almost EVERYTHING comes back in interesting and critical ways. So even as it tickles the overpowered protagonist part of my brain it still tickles the story growth and lore parts just as much.
Yeah no. Every single isekai out there has "lore reasons" for their MC being OP. Youd have a harder time finding an isekai where the MC WASN'T chosen by a higher deity.
The real reason solo leveling is so hyped to people originally stems back to how Sword Art Online left the online world too quickly. People demanded and were eager to watch more of Kirito but sadly it didn’t matter as SAO started to declined. So when a black haired guy who wields a sword in a game that if you die u also die in real life and the only chance to survive is get stronger was animated, people loved it immediately.
What world did you live in? Kirito was one of the main reasons people STOPPED watching SAO! When you say: "SAO declined", I hear "Kirito sucked"
Quick correction, after a dungeon is completed the hunters only have 1 hour to get back to the real world, not 10

@@kristopherleslie8343they probably made a mistake or translation error. In the manhwa and in the first episode they have a conversation about how even if the entrance is a 40 min walk it's okay because they would have 20 min to spare before the gate closed.

The web novel has been officially translated into books and are finished here at least in audio format on audible. I believe the books are too. Officially tappy toon has finished the entire manhwa to read on there as well. The prints are not finished though. Appreciate your content I’m glad everyone is excited for this manhwa adaptation.

this season is actually quite good if you look at live chart. yea no huge crazy releases but there are some fun and interesting shows coming out and also continuing a lot of shows from fall season like frieren, undead unluck, and so on and so forth.

It's unfortune the series has been put on pause although I don't know if they get someone to continue they will do it justice. I personally enjoyed the character development and the insane fight scenes. The anime looks amazing so far with the first episode. I can't wait to see the big show downs
If you mean the manhwa, you can find official and fan translations online. Manhwa is originally made and released digitally, and it only gets printed afterwards. So it shouldn't really take away from the experience unless you heavily prefer physical copies

One slight correction: the Hunter Association doesn't necessarily decide who gets to go into dungeons. They manage the sale and auction of the rights to clear individual dungeons to guilds, who are groups of hunters that operate as for-profit companies. This drives the guilds to make heavy profits from dungeons and compete with the others for territory.
This may be different in the web novel though, so grain of salt.
That's pretty correct, the only thing you missed is that Jin woo and co. at the start work directly for the hunters association essentially clearing the dregs that no guilds want.

winter 2024 isn't weak in my opion, their are currently airing a lot of great anime, chained soldier, blue excorsist, mashle, frieren, The Apothecary Diaries, and classroom of the elite, so i wouldn't call the winter of 2024 a weak season but i clicked on this video so you know solo leveling is an anime i am going to watch

Honestly the story was nothing too impressive, it was the execution and artwork that made it so good in my opinion.
Absolutely. It is a power fantasy with a character that is closer to just being an archetype rather than having actual personality, there is no actual struggle (a bit at the start, then the mc is always over powered for the situation they're in at any given time (Seriously, the S class hunters become a joke way too fast)).
I was still able to enjoy reading through it twice.

He couldn't have stayed E rank. The "system" compelled him and forced him to level with massive punishments if he didn't complete his dailys
The only "requirement" is to complete his daily quest, which he is allowed to fail. He could have technically refused to claim his rewards (they also dont give xp directly) or accepted the punishment, thus remaining in E rank power level (ignoring the fact that he will always be considered "E rank" until being re-evaluated)

Nick so I just found out I’m not long for this world. Maybe 10 15 years tops. My favorite mangaka Katsura hoshino is also terminal but she through sheer force of will is going to finish my favorite series d gray man. I am doing everything I can to stay alive to see the end. As it stands there is almost no video information on this series and there’s a lot I don’t understand. If you could find it in your heart to read the series and make content on it I will bless you for eternity from the pure lands

I didnt know you read solo leveling but im all here for more videos
So i watched rhe first two episodes, read essentially up the point online before watching this video. The series is interesting however from my perspective only a couple episodes in, i do wish it wasnt only him that could level up. Maybe not all hunters be able to, but if there were a select few around the world i think it would add just a little to the story.

we still haven't gotten 2nd season of Korea's big three ( yeah, talking about God of Highschool and Tower of God. Hardcore Leveling Warrior didn't get animated). I doubt they would even make Solo Leveling more than one season.

I hope this anime lives up to its hype and is much better than other power fantasy anime. Like having some challenges if not in terms of power, then with the mc's morality once he gets too powerful (with great power, comes great responsibilities). Nothing is more boring imo than an anime that wants to take itself seriously while having an overpowered mc that really didn't do anything to deserve their power. This is just my preference though..
Another anime that just came out that surprised me is Ishura. Although it is not hyped, it looks very promising.

The story is full of hype moments and lots of pay off... Without enough setup imo.
Minor spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn't read it:
Let's take the S class hunters and national level hunters, for example. They're established as being these incredibly powerful and dangerous people, but they don't really do anything of importance. By the time the mc actually interacts with them, he's already stronger. I know the point is that the mc becomes so far ahead that he alone can take on the dangers, but it gets to that level really quickly and without proper pacing. It's not that he's stronger than them from the start, but you only really hear about them being strong and see a couple of quick examples with inconsequential fights.

Imagine OG Naruto, but by the time the Sasuke Retrieval arc started, Naruto had already achieved Sage Mode with the same level of power he had against Pain.
And that's only taking into consideration the issues (imo) with pacing and power scaling. I think world building was also lacking, with a lot of concepts being introduced then dropped very, very quickly.
@@Fernando-ek8jp whats weird tho ive read a bucnh of manwha as well and well a lot of the dungeon based ones or tower based ones all have basically that same type of issue is either world not being more fleshed out or power just being given out willy nilly without much of a training arc but idk if its due to not wanting to bore the readers or what but i feel you on how solo leveling kinda rushes through everything especially the various fights feel like he is always just stronger. Idk why koreans develop stories like that but its a trend that many manwhas reflect. I have only found a few handful of manhwa that scale properly and most of the time its isekai type worlds or Reincarnation within the same world where the build up is a lot more fleshed out. I do agree with your very valid points im just unsure as to how they will do that in the anime without fitting in what you would almost consider filler for basically training arcs or something
