  • A great diamond vs moissanite video comparing pear shape center-stones in our RS-233 two-tone micropave wrap design. The diamond shown is a 1.50 carat center-stone, G color/SI1 clarity GIA certified, while the moissanite is a 12x8 F1 Charles & Colvard, and both rings were custom made for their center-stones to ensure a seamless fit. The beauty of the moissanite is being able to achieve a diamond-like appearance in your favorite custom ring style for a fraction of the price. The diamond does provide more sparkle and its natural rarity will always make it a top choice for engagement ring seekers world wide.

It seems like with Moiss the shape isn’t as precise or the shape is elongated, is that true?

Not sure what you mean by not as "precise?" Are you assuming that the diamond's cut is the ideal cut for all pear shapes? Different shapes actually work better for the refractivity of different stones. They're not identical shapes, but I wouldn't say that the moissanite pear's shape is inferior because it isn't identical.
Or do you think it's poorly cut, maybe asymmetrical?
There are some companies that deliberately give moissanite a non-ideal cut (by giving it the cut that is ideal for a diamond) because they want the moissanite to be less sparkly, interestingly.
If you want a moissanite that is cut to mimic a diamond, they're out there.
I really do like the cuts that highlight the unique qualities of a moissanite, though. If a moissanite can do something better than diamond (not that diamond should ever have been the default stone, what a great ad campaign), why not let it? :)

A 1.5 carat pear shape will be about 10mm long for a diamond

Moissanite only looks good when they are brand new but after a while they will start to look dirty and lackluster. And I could tell a Moissanite just with naked eye.

That's only cz I have emerald moissanite earrings for like a year and they look fine just depends if your cheap and you don't get the best synthetic stones out there.

This is completely untrue. Moissanite will sparkle bright forever. They also attract oils and dirts less than diamonds do. They clean up very easily as well. Moissanite is a natural mineral unlike CZ that you are probably confusing moissanite with. CZ is a diamond simulant while moissanite is NOT.

That’s silly. The gem can be cleaned throughly just like any other gem. As someone who has both a significant collection of diamonds and moissanite jewelry. I’m wondering if you accidentally bought a cz! Because what you’re saying is objectively untrue.
