I knew he was going to say swimming and bicycling as I discovered that decades ago. Let pain be your guide. Less pain in movement = better for knees and increases circulation in joint. Also liquid glucosamine + chondroitin is more absorbable and helps long term, but is not a cure. Costco carries it. Not endorsing, just telling my my experience. For me low carb/keto ( with non starchy vegies) greatly reduced the inflammation in my knees, lowered the pain and gave me much more mobility.

Did this exercise after injuring my knee. I reabilitated my knee without going to physical therapy. (Not recommending you do that on your own. Just sharing my experience as I could not afford the physical therapy) after the first time doing this...I felt some relief. I also used hot water on my knee when showering and slowly bending the knee. Within a month or two I was able to walk normally without any pain! I kept doing the exercise for a while...and slowly decreasing how often. I occasionally do it to stretch my knee and it feels amazing! Take care of your knees! 👍👍

Applying heat tricks the body to accelerate blood flow to the knee replacing the synovial fluid with new filtrated blood. If you take glucosime sulphate, fish oil, MSM which is sulphur, the body is intelligent enough to regrow cartilage in the joint. Many of my friends I ski and hike with have had them and they feel great. They all regret not getting them done sooner. I will do this a try because I too have knee problems not as soon as it becomes extremely painful and stops me from doing the things I love I am getting new knees. Life is too short to be in constant pain. I wish you all well. Take care

Now, I am active again and walk at least 2 miles every day. I've had both knees replaced, 4 months apart, 3 years ago. Find a good surgeon that you trust, take the pain meds as prescribed to stay ahead of pain, DO THE REHAB NO MATTER WHAT, and get on with your life. It is so worth it!!!!

I put the weights on and sat on the edge of a table while I watched the news. When I got up, I couldn't believe how immediate the relief was! Thank you! I intend to interject three minutes of this exercise morning, noon (even at lunch while on the job), and night. I will have two total knee replacements this spring and summer, but this one exercise already feels like it will see me through until both are done.

I used a similar exercise when I got a 'Cold Shoulder' which extended down my arm. I literally couldn't sit up or lie down and couldn't sleep. So, I let my 'bad' arm DANGLE whilst holding a heavy bag of soil, with a handle, and gently swung the bag, letting my shoulder stretch out. At the same time, I leaned my head sideways onto the opposite shoulder, thus extending my 'bad' arm and shoulder out. When I was able I swung the bag higher and higher. My shoulder got better in a few weeks, but I would have had permanent scar tissue around a nerve had I not stretched out my shoulder and arm.

@@martinheath5947 + I swung the bag forwards and back, letting my arm dangle, and increasing the height of the swings as my shoulder improved. A side-to-side movement would probably be a bad idea as it would require actively using the muscles in your arm. The purpose is not to use the muscles, but to let them dangle and stretch out, at least in the beginning. When the pain starts to ease a bit you could start using the muscles more and employ more complex movements. I had to use Aspirin/Paracetamol to take down the inflammation. Hope this helps!

This looks like a very comfy exercise. Please be aware, if you are having knee or ankle replacements done, many of us suffer because when our 'new' knees/ ankles were put back together they made the tendons, ligaments, etc TOO TIGHT. Eventually exercise doesn't help any more. The plastic that fills in for lost cartilage wears out too soon (10-12 years) & more surgery is required. Ankles are MUCH more painful than knees.

I had a ton of IT band pain running, when I started cycling 2 hours a day I didn't have any leg pain at all. In my late 50s, I was diagnosed with a torn meniscus and OA in my left knee. The stinging pain would settle into my knee at night and prevent sleep (except in certain knee-supported positions) and it got worse over time. This condition stopped me from being able to do daily dance aerobics or even walk more than a mile a day. The orthopedic doc offered a useless cortisone shot or a useless surgery to trim the torn meniscus; he had nothing to offer me for the nighttime pain and the OA. I worked with a PT for about 6 months and then two different chiropractors over the next year; I did ALL of their exercises and stretches without results. Then I happened upon this video and bought some 10-lb ankle weights. I noticed a difference immediately, and it made so much sense that I kept doing it 3 times a day for 3-5 minutes until I could walk as many miles a day as I wanted without pain. It only took a little more than a week before I was back to regular workouts. In 10 weeks, I lost the 20 lbs I gained while I suffered and wasted time, effort and money on these so-called experts. Now, I do the knee traction only when I've worked the knee hard and feel I need it. Sleep is normal again. I'm so relieved! THANK YOU. (BTW, the traction concept also works for one of my shoulders when I need it!)

I was so discouraged when I went for my 6 monthly follow-up visit to my doctor after I spend 20 days in ICU with Covid Pneumonia in Sept last year. I NEVER had blood pressure issues but here I hit the 160/90. My Physician told me to monitor it for two months but that he will eventually have to put me on BP tablets. He said I must remember that I am getting older and I must expect deterioration like that. My blood pressure never exceeded 125/75.
Then I watched your video on how to get a constant BP reading and I immediately tried it. The reading at home went down to 119/78.! By the way, I am stage 2 diabetic after covid, 64 years old, play golf and Bowls and try to live a healthy life style. I was with this last visit taken of the Insulin injection and I am only taking tablets
NOW, Thinking about that day I went for the check-up it more or less went like this. The appointment was at 11h00. We rushed to town because there were things we had to do before my appointment. We could not find what we were looking for so we had some time to mark and decided to go for breakfast (a large one). We had to rush to be in time for my appointment. After running up the steps (3rd floor) we made it in time. We had to urgently call my medical aid to get an approval number for the check-up. ALL this contributed to the high BP reading I now realise.
I never felt like someone who had BP issues. What a relief! Thanks again.

I have had 3 knee operations on my left knee over the past 38 years, I suspect my next surgery could be a knee replacement, so I will do everything I can to prolong the knee. My last surgery was an arthroscopy back on 2010 & generally my knee feels good with some aches & pains from general living.
I've been doing this exercise for a week and it feels amazing. At the end of the exercise I have been allowing my leg to just swing back and forth to see how it affected the hip joint, I believe I got some relief there as well, Thank you I am going to become a subscriber.
    Regards Scott

I have been having knees pain for a while now and been doing lots of stretches in the morning. It worked for a bit but not anymore.
I swim 3 , 4 times a week for couple of hrs a week, but legs feels weak so don’t swim in the deep end of the pool.
Went to see my GP last week, he suggested painkillers tablets and was quick to suggest surgery. Not interested in either of his advice.
Just found your video, sounds good so I m gonna try that and wonder if I can find those leg weight somewhere on line.
      Wish me luck.
