Motors aren't made by equipment manufacturers. Mechanical equipment breaks regardless of the brand, if not there would be no video to watch. You see Goodman alot because they are probably the biggest manufacturer there is in terms of units per badge brand. Carrier might be the biggest but they make more brand names than any other manufacturer. The brand game is merely to dupe those that don't know better. All of us who have run HVAC service have gotten a bad motor out of the box before. This isn't some *new* thing. Goodman brands are Amana, Daikin, Goodman & GMC but they haven't been making GMC since the pandemic. @@HobbyOrganistThe stupid folks in high political places simply do not accept the facts about electric motors as they are today. That is they are about 60% efficient meaning 40% of the power used is wasted. So, they force industry to use technology that is not reliable nor good for long service and very expensive, in many cases 10 times the cost of a PSC motor. Add to all of this that most things are made in PRC or China so the quality is limited.

I am NOT a fan of those ECM motors. Never have been. Carrier was having problems with them in the mid 90s and then you could not just replace the ECM you had to replace then entire motor. Give me an old fractional HP motor any day. 1/5 - 3/4 used to be about 35 - 40.00 back in the day, not any more. Crazy because they are still made like junk. Not like the 1978-1985 time frame. Yup, I'm an old tech that got into Chillers. Hope you let that thaw natural like. I've had new motors taken out by running with ice. P.S. I do like watching you repair stuff. The key word is REPAIR! Everyone wants to replace with a 7 or 8 times mark up on residential stuff. Amazing to me. What used to cost about 3-4000.00 (5 Ton) turn key is now 17 to 20,000.00 which screws someone my age totally over. Pay 200.00 per month for life LOL. Anyway GOOD JOB !

My company sells Goodman and never have this many problems with the blowers. You need to remember that Goodman doesn’t make the motors

I’ve installed a lot of Goodman units with no issues. The quality control on all the brands has gone down. So you can’t say one way or the other. I do however, think a fan motor on a new unit is unusual.

How many times have you had a brand new motor or board be bad..right out of the box?? And is that why it's best to buy two at a time when buying parts for a job?

10:00 - The problem is you didnt even plug the wiring loom in properly on the first motor. You can see it is clearly not seated properly, especially when compared to 14:11 . Jagaloon.

I remember from the Evan Almighty movie, "When someone asks for patience, do you think God zaps them with patience or does he give them opportunities to be patient?' You are far and ahead of me in the patience area. You've also shown that Goodman is not a product to be trusted. How sad.

Doesn't one manufacturer make a tester to verify the ECM motor before installing? I saw a tech channel where one was used. Edit: might have been the MI heating guy channel and a carrier tester? Just a guess.
