In August 2017, the Chengdu-Europe Express Railway, which traverses the Eurasian continent, connects Chengdu with Moscow at the other end. In recent years, with the establishment of friendly and cooperative relations between Chengdu and Moscow, the exchanges between the two places have become closer, and many Russians have also come to Chengdu to live and work.
Lydia, who is over her sixty’s, is a full-time foreign teacher in the Russian Department of the School of Foreign Languages of Sichuan University. Lydia is from Astrakhan, Russia, a city built along the Volga River. Before coming to China, she was the head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at Astrakhan State University, Russia, and participated in the compilation of 6 university Russian textbooks. Lydia has had a strong interest in Chinese culture and has always dreamed of working in China. In 2016, Lydia got a chance to work in Sichuan University, and she has since started her life in China.
