we have to ask, why are we so much personality driven instead of ideas. To me it looks like that so long IK is out of trouble, his well-wishers seem to have forgotten all the trouble that this country ever had. never mind if all the second-tier leadership of PTI is put behind bars. had the people followed the idea IK was trying to instill or the ideology of PTI, we might still have people fighting for their right as ideas are bigger and stronger than individual. you can still fight for it even with the top leadership locked up. because for us, IK is the redline not our civil rights and because he is spared for a while, we can be quite content with it. this mentality will need to change. I am afraid this is embedded in DNA (perhaps with the exception of pushtoon and baloch). an utter failure of social fabric, justice, law and order and basic human rights. Pakistan today is no better than Yemen or Somalia. a country that was coming out of covid times with a bright prospect just over a year ago is looking like a plane nose diving with all engines failed.
how will this Nation (if one dare to call it one) rise for their rights? we have the living examples of how it was done recently in France, in Israel, in Sri Lanka. they didn't wait for their idealists to guide them through, but they rose for their rights. no one lead them, it was all self-driven movement. IK has done much more than his fair bit of share and we shall not leave everything on him to get us through. it's your right, and both state and government are obliged to listen to it. which perhaps will give something to judiciary to shoulder on.
Basic issue is the kind of kids we are graduating from schools. Over the past 40 years k-12 education has gradually been destroyed. These kids lack the basic skill of how to think let alone critical thinking. These are people at the helm in bureaucracy, military, education and what not. This is a travesty when someone else thinks for you whether it’s in social, cultural or religious domain.

Here it seems we aren’t a nation but a herd, not self driven but always want others to fight for our rights. IK of course is tired now as Imported Government keeps keeps him dragging in courts in different cities, we as must stand for our rights

Mr bhutto was very powerful and very intelligent moreover he was from a fuedal background and familiar with political hostilities and how to handle them. Still the way he was eliminated is evidence of the fact that in Pakistan you have to be street smart and a ruffian.
Bhutto's biggest mistakes were that he started nationalizing everything and putting unqualified Sindhis in high level position.

@Anon Hopk Jinnah passed away one year after Pakistan was found and that was the toughest year of his life. So Jinnah did not really succeed in Pakistan but his success was the reason for Pakistan to come into being. The vision he had for this country did not last after his death and the country took a completely different trajectory. In the post Jinnah Pakistan, where his sister was called a traitor by Ayub, even Jinnah couldn't have survived against the powers that have plagued us. Here you need to be familiar with the ways of the gutter for you have to wrestle with pigs and can't expect to come out unscathed. If you adhere to your values and ideals, you will have respect and be revered for not compromising on your principles but you would not get anywhere near to the halls of power. The powers that be need a facilitator at the helm to launder and conceal their nefarious ends while projecting to the world that Pakistan is a democratic state to avoid western isolation but the people are the subjects ruled with an ironfist.

I think he is the only leader who represents the people of all provinces of Pakistan. He has millions of fans overseas and I pray that Allah gives him the strength to be our saviour. Protests for Bhutto were mainly in Sindh. The increase in State oppression now is due to proportional increase in popular support for PTI and Imran Khan.
I believe if such was not the case the reaction by state will not be that severe.

The country is going through a political, social, and moral evolution. The dirt swamp has awakened and started bubbling. As a nation, there is a lot to learn from this situation. UK has been nurturing Altaf Hussain and Nawaz Sharif for years. The British Pakistani should ask their government why have they been doing this and why are they supporting the PDM? Hopefully the democratic institutions there might be more helpful.
