I currently am a sophomore at Columbia and one thing I learned is that the communication with the college is TERRIBLE!!!!!

Oh no! I felt the same way with some professors when I was still in school there.

As someone who is considering transferring to Columbia, my current college has these exact same cons. So my transfer consideration really hasn't been changed.

Even though I’m not a student at Columbia College Chicago, some of the stuff mentioned I definitely taken advantage of within my first year of college. I go to my local community college. I didn’t discover rate my professor until a few weeks into my first semester, luckily I had pretty decent professors during my first semester. The other thing is with my classes, all of my elective courses either meet MW or TTh and with my Gen-ed courses I’m able to make it so I have my classes on the same days.

OMG! I'm a CCC student- Go Columbia College Chicago! What position did you have when you were a student? Was it an on-campus job? I loved this video!

How exciting! Hope you are loving CCC! I never worked on Campus actually. I got jobs that were close to campus (I lived at the UC for a long time) and then eventually the summer before my senior year I started working in the West Loop which is where I am still working today!

hey thank you so much for this video! i actually have a question, i did research on Columbia and their majors. it’s more of an artsy school for the talented from what ive seen. so my question is, is there a business management class that i could major in? because that’s more of my thing, i love the area and the opportunity that Columbia has to offer but im not sure if what im looking for is there.

Hey Aubreya! Glad you liked this video! A few of my classmates in my fashion courses for sure went to Columbia for more business / management roles as opposed to studying actual arts.. Depending on what you're interested in I would recommend design management, music business artist management, or social media and and digital strategy. I would say from my experience, I was not an artsy type of person and wanted more of management degree and Fashion studies was perfect for me. I at least got to learn how clothing is made and developed, but got a lot of learning from actual managing, business development, and merchandising for the role I am in today. Hope this helps!

for the first one i think that is extremely personal because saying you won’t get along with another person because they don’t have the same major as you, or that you just “weren’t interested” in the networking events that they DID have so chose not to go doesn’t mean they dont promote networking.. you have to do the work in that situation. Also going to a school like columbia and not having an open mind to different departments and fields is so… it sounds like you just want to meet more fashion majors, so meet after your fashion classes ig?

    Do u have a job?
One will never find a job after graduating from a tier 4 school like Columbia College Chicago. Have a 300k loan withba degree of a college that will eventually close.
