I have streamlined swatches for all of my inks, liquid embellishments, embossing folders,my cardstocks, and my markers.
All the time and effort is worth it!
It's so awesome that I'm able to color coordinate everything I own and expand my resources with contentment as I create lovely cards for the Gospel of Christ.
Your videos played a huge part in helping me.

I am finally at the point in my paper crafting journey to set up a better ink color system where I can compare similar colors from different companies side-by-side. Thank you so much for sharing your "smarts" with your stamping sisters and for taking the time to upload the charts you made for the different ink companies.

I was told at a craft fair that you had a swatch book made with swatches sized 2" x 3-1/2" and stored in business card page protectors. I was so happy about this idea that when I got home I ordered 2 packs of business card protectors and another 2 packs of the tabbed business card protectors (to separate the colors - all I'll say in my defense is I'm a Virgo). But then I watched your video. Oh, dear. I guess I gotta order coin protectors pages now! I still love the idea. Before, I had the full sized pages printed out and in a soft side binder, but having the organized by companies is difficult because you cannot compare colors.
My husband agreed with me that I should have ignored the printed sheets from the individual companies and put the pages together in color groups. I would then be able to see just how close "Hero Arts Blue Water Reactive Ink" is to "Lawn Fawn's Peacock". Thank you, Jennifer. Your ideas for organization are excellent and adding a piece of cardstock to the swatches makes more sense than separating each company!

Just finished setting up my distressed ink sample cards following your direction. What a wonderful experience that went beyond the simple joy of organizing my tools. I received the obvious practice stamping, using the applicator to form smooth transitions from dark to light (well at least I tried), and drawing lines with a brush that never turned out the same as the one before. It surprised me how different the colors were from the printed labels. I guess it shouldn’t have. I loved the small jewels of multiple colors when a simple spritz of water is applied. It was eye opening to see how one apparently solid color could show so many different colors like the browns and golds in Brushed Corduroy and the reds and pinks in Candied Apple. Not to mention the variety of color expressed in the stamped area, the applicator and the water line. Even the lightest saturated colors can be vibrant. There were colors that appealed to me and ones that I couldn’t see ever using and a most of them somewhere in between. I feel challenged now to use them all sooner or later. Thank you again for the wonderful idea.

Thank you for sharing your brilliant organization technique for swatches! ❤️
I'll be using it for creating many swatchbooks with the 3 rings in your video, and I'll be usining them for different books for each of the main art supplies I use when doing traditional art:
Watercolor, Gouache, color pencils, watercolor pencils, color inks, Copic markers, acryla inks and a few other media.
Your idea for leaving space below the solid swatch sample for adding in a smudged or painted sample is also a wonderful idea which I will use for the watercolor pencils and a couple other materials.
I think on the back of some media swatches, since I do mixed media also, I'll pair-up the sample with another coordinating media to showcase how it looks.
Like an India ink outline filled-in with a color acryla ink, or a color ink outline filled-in with a wash or solid of watercolor pencil, or a gradation of solid to transparent watercolor over graphite with white color pencil test lines over it.
And also: Gouache painting over a watercoler base as well as color pencils over a watercolor base and color pencil sample lines over the swatches of any of the liquid media like watercolor, acryla gouache and watercolor pencils.
There are so many ways to make use of this method for showcasing all kinds of art materials and coordinating materials you may want to use alondside them, it's endelss! 😊

Wow I thought I was organized but you blow me away (in a good way of course). Love the book. I just started "inking" and began with the distressed inks so your method for all inks will get me off to a great start as I collect (which I'm sure I'll do). It is so great to have someone like you to follow and learn from. You are a great teacher.

Thanks for making these color swatches. However, there have been many new inks added since your last update. Is it possible to share a template so that we can add the new inks as they become available? I can't see how to edit your current upload since it's a PDF. I'd like to try some of the Hero Arts inks. Is there a suggestion on which colors to start out with to cover most color needs? I'm clueless and overwhelmed by all the shades of colors! Just looking for a basic set of each color to begin with and then add to it as budget allows.

Hi, the font is "century gothic". If you open the Word editable version of her template it shows at the top of the screen in the font box. Her boxes also default to that font; however, you would have to bold if you are going for the look of her pre-made ones. Hope this helps.
