  • Facts of Life Down Under was filmed in June/ July 1986 in Sydney and surrounding areas like Kirribilli, Mosman, Bradley's Head and further locations like Ayers Rock and the Outback. As a kid this movie made me fascinated with Australia and it was fun for me to find where the FOL gang actually were while Down Under! Then is 1986 and now is April, 2014.

I wish I could go back to Sydney and check out some of these places. Thanks to Google Maps, I discovered that Strickland House in the Vaucluse area of Sydney served as the exterior for Kolunga School. The hut that the chamber orchestra plays in at the end is the Summer House at Strickland House.

It's in Reid Park in Sydney across the bay from the Opera House and Downtown. It connects Park Ave and Avenue Rd.
