- Wishing all celebrating the first night of Hanukkah today a blessed Festival of Lights! I just heard this traditional Jewish song for the first time this week and it has been stuck in my head, so I needed to arrange it, obviously. Jewish culture and heritage is so beautiful and rich- the day could not pass without honoring those who celebrate today. Here is the translation I found online- please correct me if you know better- I don’t speak Hebrew!

Unless the Lord builds the house, The builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain. Indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep,
will neither slumber nor sleep, Guardian of Israel. - Hudba
This song makes me feel like a kid on a bouncy castle, in the best possible way. The harmonies, the words, all wonderful.
כל הכבוד!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤩✊🏻…יש לך כישרון בע״ה!!!!!
טוב 👏
Thank you!
Meravigliosa, commovente ed incantevole
Bravo, well done girls 👏👏👏

Good sings, from best friend of Israel , Bharat (India)
cool
Thank you!
Amazing, love they way you smile singing. Keep going!
Very beautiful! Keep up the great work and keep doing good for HaShem
Very nice! Loved your ability to sing in a language you don't speak. There are some very minor mistakes and some words are spoken in the Yiddish form, not Hebrew but the overall result is really impressive! BRAVO!
Thank you! I learned this by ear and don’t speak Yiddish or Hebrew. I am sure it isn’t perfect, but I hope that my joy in the music came through despite those errors :)
@@mariazollo3354 it sure did and you did a great job!
Lovely!
Fantastic!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
🌹🌹💙🌼💐🌺 I pressed the button again and again in the last few days 🥰🥰🥰
I just discovered this channel! I love these acapella renditions! Do you take/consider song requests?
Yes, I do take requests! What do you have in mind?
@@mariazollo3354 To stick with the holiday theme, any of the following songs might be fun: 'For Unto Us A Child Is Born' (from Handel's Messiah), 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing', 'Good King Wenceslas', 'Bashana Haba'a' (the holiday for this is Rosh Hashanah so it's a bit late but I can't resist putting it down, it's one of my favorites), and 'Angels We Have On High'.
@@henrycurtis4600 I can definitely do Hark the Herald Angels Sing! I also just posted a version of Angels We Have Heard on High, coincidentally! I wish that I had the musical skill to do the Handel on my own, but I would need a few more singers to truly make that work. I have never heard Bashana Haba'a'. I will look it up and do my best- the music in the Jewish tradition is truly beautiful!
נשמע יפה !👌🏽🙏🏽
- I am not sure if I am saying this correctly

Hi- sorry for my delayed response! I learned this by ear, actually! I wish I knew where I could find sheet music!

Are you a Jew?
No, I am Greek Orthodox. However, the Greek and English translations of this psalm are used in the orthodox service that opens churches. I have a lot of friends that are Jewish though.
@@mariazollo3354 I'm interested in knowing what it is called in orthodox service.
I'm transitioning to The orthodox religion, I passed by an orthodox church the second day I came out of prison and once I ntered it, heared the prayers and started to have tears in my eyes, this is how I knew that the spirituality of the Orthdox faith and Jesus Christ have touched my mind and soul.
I'm changing my life to the greater good.
@@barmitsva6897 Thank you for sharing your experience! That is truly inspiring. This text is the Hebrew translation of Psalm 127. It is also recited in the Orthodox Christian tradition. Most recently, I read it during Lent during some of our weekday services. Here is the text for the full Psalm:
Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it. Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He giveth His beloved sleep.
3 Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.
4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man, so are the children of the youth.
5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies at the gate.
@@mariazollo3354 Thank You for your reply and I thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
May God Bless you and your loved ones and keep you safe.
Amen ☦️
@@barmitsva6897 Same to you! Happy to help.
את לא אמורה פשוט לרשום את השם של ה' ככה בכותרת זה שם קדוש
you are not supposed to wright gods name its a very holly name that shouldnt be use lattly
נכון, ככל הנראה אין לה את ההבנה לזה,לכתוב את שם ההוויה סביר מאשר להגות אותה שזה חמור. ובנוסף לכתוב "ה'" ולהתייחס לזה כשם השם זה חמור יותר.
