    Hydraulic actuated independent PTO was an option on the 200 AC.

      Yeah but it still stopped turning when you stepped on the foot clutch. Dad’s 200 has this option.

      @LanceStoddard Před 3 měsíci

      @@rosstheoliverman Oh yeah it was only independent via the Power Director. Forgot about that. Guess it was semi independent. Some people liked that though, they could stop the tractor and PTO quickly with the foot clutch in case something went into an implement that shouldn't.

  • @tractorsold1

    The D series hand clutch was a two range system, same as this one. It was the WD and WD45 that were single speed in-or-out.

    I figured you would have Googled it on the device you carry. I see a lot of similarities to the Allis CA that we had. Especially the fact that they kept failing to make a real live PTO. The older ones simply de-clutched one axle as Allis figured the only time one needed to stop and keep the PTO live was when you were using their round balers.

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  Před 11 měsíci

      Yeah the CA had that axle clutch but I figured it was probably perfect for those Roto balers. Thanks Gary!

    I also like the long nose body style of the late 60's/early 70's Allis Chalmers. Growing up in Washington Co the most AC equipment I remember over there was mostly Simplicity lawn and garden stuff.....LOL..........that place was mostly saturated with IH and JD stuff as far as serious farm equipment is/was concerned.

  • @JH-qi7fz

    Fake news! Allis offered the OPTION of a live PTO. The live PTO setup would have the handle on the side of the side console where that cap is about middle of it on this one. If you didnt have the live PTO option you PTO handle was on the floor like the one your working on. Dont blame Allis for the PTO setup, blame cheap old farmers!

    • @rosstheoliverman
      @rosstheoliverman  Před 11 měsíci +2

      Fake news to you! Dad’s 200 has that hydraulically engaged PTO and it’s still stops when you step on the clutch.

    • @JH-qi7fz
      @JH-qi7fz Před 11 měsíci

      @@rosstheoliverman sounds like we're hung up on semantics here. Allis offered a Live PTO option, which allows you to stop movement while the PTO continues to runs using the Power Director. But if your talking about an Independent PTO, where you can both stop forward motion and change gears/direction while your PTO runs, then no, they didnt have that on those tractors.

      @@rosstheoliverman Probably my 2nd favorite sounding engine in a tractor after the 4-53 . I would have one today if AC had not stuck with their stupid hand clutch so long. That hydraulic pto kik-in gained you nothing useful. I would like to talk to the engineer on that fiasco. I rember the first time I sat on a 200 at an auction and saw the hydraulic pto lever . I was so excited till I pushed in the foot clutch.😢😢 Glad I tried it out before I bid on it.😉

    I thought the 200s were redesigned from the 190XT. I didn't realize they were so similar. From my experiences with my 190XT, I would have second thoughts on accepting a 200, even if you were giving it to me. The 190XT was too new of a tractor for that PTO setup. You need to bw able to hit the clutch and the PTO still run. Those 3pts look and act like a aftermarket add on. The one on my 190 won't even pick up my 3pt drill high enough empty to turn. Im having issues now with the fuel lines. I have good flow to just in front of the operator platform, and then a trickle when it jumps up a little going over the bell housing to the filter. Ive had the line off and blown it out. Im ready to add a low flow electric pump on it to see if that changes anything. Granted, its a old tractor but i think it was way behind compared to the other manufacturers at the time. I admit, they are nice looking tractors but that doesn't get work done. I use mine for round baling, and its not so bad once you get used to it. I also run the square baler with it on flat ground, but running a brush cutter with it gets sketchier.
