I love that she mentioned that her style was practical...not just pretty. That's always a big part of my own design decisions since we actually do live life in our home. I never want it to feel like a museum. Joanna offers such great inspiration for how to do that with style!
I love Joanna and Chip. They and others like them are a wonderful breath of fresh air in the world of television today. To those who think that the house looks staged, I doubt that anyone would want their house to look like a mess when TV cameras are filming.

I've subscribed to your Magnolia Network and I love it. As much as I am a fan of the amazing work y'all do, there is one element missing from all your offerings on the network. To me, your greatest contribution in your shows is your parenting, which is without equal. Your children are happy! How about a segment on Parenting? Believe me, the world needs it! I'm a disabled veteran and I'm also homeless, I drive a big rig truck and it helps me cope with all my issues from the marine corps, I love watching chip and joanna because they are such down to earth people, I hope one day I'll be able to have a place to call home and have Joanne decorate it for me.

Im glad they decided to come back to TV with new fixer upper episodes. So awesome. I wish they'd start their own CZcams channel so we could learn some stuff and see the house for real. They're really busy though. They have the farm, a bakery, a restaurant, their own decor line, plus renovating, flipping, and fixer upper. They sure do have their hands in a lot of pockets. I love the team work between them.
Watching this family makes me happy. They're all so personable and positive, hard working, creative, funny and smart...

@L. A. McDonough As long as the kids are well taken care of and happy, I really don't see what's wrong with having lots of kids. They probably have lots of employees that help with the business and are most likely pretty well off financially as well.
@L. A. McDonough To many, family IS the life. I know that is not for everyone, but kids (as well as one's marriage) is the best thing in the world to many. So having kids doesn't tie one down in that case, but the sense of belonging and acceptance is simply sublime and well worth it. So to many work is a vehicle to provide for one's family, rather than work being the apex desire and family a lesser second. Hope that makes sense lol Have a good one! :)

When we moved to Arizona from Illinois, we stayed in a hotel for 2 months. We were pretty much confined. We had our two little boys and our two pets, so getting out was always a challenge. I used to binge watch Fixer Upper on HGTV. A lot of inspiration from the Gaines. I hope someday they have a new tv show. I love how they work. I would have wanted to see a little bit more of their beautiful home in this video, however.

We just bought a little brick fixer upper after downsizing from a two story.... one of the rooms is this strange back room where the washer and dryer is... my husband's idea was to close off the washer and dryer with a stack able unit with a big shelf next to it with barn doors... the rest of the room we're adding french doors where there's the most light to come in, redoing the floors, walls and making it a reading/craft room. All his idea! I crochet a lot so this was very thoughtful to me. He even asked if he can come back there and read with me... sure! So, when I saw this it'll help me even more with ideas... so excited.

I too love black and white home decorating. People don't get the concept of black and white decorating. They say to me also, not enough color. That's what black and white is! I add greenery/plants with my black and white. I feel like my white walls are my white clouds and the plants are my nature inside. I also illuminate everything, with mini clear lights interior and , clear c-9 sets exterior in with my greenery. It's so beautiful. I adore it!
