@@mai-chan4681​​⁠it's orientalist; orientalism is the depiction of middle eastern/arab people as "exotic" by non-arab people. why is it racist? it's hasty generalization against a whole group of people. orientalist media tend to depict arab people with highly exposed skin/a belly dancer trope to make them "exotic," which isnt true (arab people tend to cover up their skin, rather than expose it). in this case, ichigo's outfit can be seen as orientalist; if you look up ACTUAL REAL-WORLD examples of what arab people wear, ichigo's outfit extremely different of what they wear: it shows more skin (which aligns with orientalism of arabs being "exotic"). additionally, the song is titled "arabian," when it uses indian instruments 😭😭 (they're two different places: arabia in west asia, india in south asia = different cultures). does that make sense? if you wanna know more, there's a good video on youtube thats titled "why arabs and muslims aren't 'exotic' by AJ+" highly recommend if you still dont understand :) sorry for being a year late
