      Do you know if the horizontal split screen on 23:22 (Navi/sonar) are only on some units. I have a ECHOMAP 93sv plus and I don’t have it on the unit. I would like to run sidevu/forwardvu....hopefully there be an update to include that combo in the future.

    Have the 7610xsv on my boat. This year picked up panoptix down and we fish salt water striped bass and blues in Raritan bay n.y. mounted a 20 in touch screen tablet through garmin helm at the back of the boat. All my fishing buddies are laying the lines out and all gather around the screen and watch in excitement as they can see the fish around the boat swimming in real time and direction. We can even see the fish pick up the chum as we throw it out. Amazing to see 20 or more feet on each side of the boat in real time. Great video pal.

      louis alexandrou Hey Louis! That’s so so cool - same experience I’ve been having, but with Live Vu Forward! We’re literally able to see the fish swimming in front of the boat, cast to them and watch them eat our baits and how they react! I just installed the Live Vu Down this spring and can’t wait to get on some deep fish and use it to see how they react to my Baits! There’s so much I can learn by seeing how they move/react to my dropshot

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  Před 5 lety

      Hey Frank. It will work, but because of how shallow the water would be, it wouldn’t be that effective more than 20ish feet to each side. You could identify maybe grass edges and some stuff on bottom, but I find it more useful in deeper water.

    What causes the clutter on the the line on SI its to the left of the line?

    • @robmainville2632
      @robmainville2632 Před 5 lety

      That would be your prop wash from your motor. If your transducer was on the opposite side of motor, the clutter would be on opposite side and so on.
      The lower your transducer is on the boat in the rear, the less of that clutter you’d see.
      You’re still going to get a great read out, you’re just losing the top 1 foot of imaging in the direction of prop wash.

    How does the Garmin imaging stack up to the mega imaging on hummingbird? Also, have they fixed their mounting issue. My buddy has to bungee his to keep it from flying off. They do float though lol

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  Před 6 lety +2

      The SideVu Settings that I run are pretty clear - They are releasing the new Ultra HD Scanning Sonar which is meant to compete with the Mega Imaging. Here's my take on it - I know exactly what rocks, wood, baitfish, fish, etc look like down there so for me, I have mine "dialed" for what I'm looking for.
      The GPSMap units shown here have the knobs on the side to hold the graph on - I've heard some concern with the Echomap units, but I haven't had mine out on the lake yet, so we'll see what happens this spring!

    Frustrated with Garmin 93sv, I bought two of them ugh. Been trying to set up a split screen with sonar on the left and side view on the right. It always says can’t do, etc. I emailed Garmin and they said it would and call if by the boat, I did and was told holding time 1:19 minutes, no thanks. What’s weird is there is a supplied combo with the three panes but the third includes clearvu which I don’t want on the combo I’m trying to create. Any ideas?

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey - when you go into the combos, there should be a mode for split screen with two panels side by side. From there, you can add your sidevu to one side, and 2d on the other (if it makes you add clearvu instead, do that). Then, once you get it setup with the side by side, click the clearvu - go into the menu for that - at the bottom hit change sonar - select traditional 2d

  • @dreunmason8315

    In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens czcams.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

    • @brnowak_fishing
      @brnowak_fishing  Před 4 lety

      Hey Jesse - I'm not sure the exact science on it, but there's an effect/impact on the image (particularly sidevu) called "waffling" where the image has distortion because of the same frequency. TVG Is Time Varied Gain - essentially the unit adjusts gain automatically depending on depth and feedback on the screen. What I've found is that you get a clearer picture, but in my opinion it comes at the cost of detail

      Good question - no, I'm just running the standard unit/GPS sensor. One of the commentors told me to try GLONASS to get a better position signal, but honestly I've not had a ton of issue with it - the Steadycast looks awesome, but I just haven't invested in it yet. Here's a link to the SteadyCast though if you want to take a look at it: bit.ly/GarminSteadyCast

      What unit do you have and how deep of water are you fishing. You could set noise rejection to “On” and it should remove that red line. My units (all brands) will naturally have a red line due to water displacement coming off the boat before the transducer
