Often, the price difference between the two is offset by getting a 3rd magazine with the G3c vs. 2 mags with the G2c. They're Met-Gar mags and worth about $40 each. The safety isn't a "lawyer thing" it's because many people that buy these guns are newbies or relatively inexperienced. Taurus makes the GX4 (micro 9) without a manual safety for experienced conceal carry individuals.

    • @mwmag
      @mwmag  Před rokem +3

That's a good point with the price difference. All the more reason I think the G3 is the choice because of the trigger. I own both and like them both very much as they are great little guns. Good point about first time gun owners but it was actually determined that the reason for the redundancy was due to the "scoring" points related to import laws. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

They are sub compact pistols for concealed carry meant to shoot at close range. They don't need match grade triggers at close range to hit a man size target. You can get used to the G2c trigger with practice. Its no big deal. They both have short trigger resets and can be fired rapidly. They are very accurate with practice. Maybe you should watch John shoot the G2c over on ThunderMountain Tactical channel on the TAURUS G2C 9mm Accuracy Review video. I have over 600 rounds of all kinds of ammo through my G2c and its still flawless. I demand a manual safety on a striker fired pistol. Other pistol fire control systems like DA/SA hammer or DAO not so much unless single action hammer fired. A trigger can snag on something when you least expect it whether it has a trigger safety lever or not.

I have both the G2C and G3C. They are both quality guns. Tge G2C has been my primary carry. But once I got the G3C I was impressed with the slight improvements. But they are both great guns for the price. Thanks for watching.

Thanks, guys! I tend to carry a revolver, but when I want a little extra capacity, the G2C is my go-to. I bought mine used for $220 cash out the door (including a holster and an extra magazine). Even though the G3C is an improvement, I think the G2C might be the better value. Great comparison!

The G2 is a tremendous value. We just had someone out to the range with us, and he said he actually preferred the G2 as well. I guess bottom line is they are both great guns for the price. Or just great guns right? Totally agree that the G2 is a great value! Thanks for the comment!

For the past forty years I’ve owned S&W revolvers, an Colt 1911 was happy with all weapons. Just purchased a g2c, I’ve replaced the guide rod assembly an also replaced the firing pin sleeve an both springs, able to reuse the split retaining clips. I’m happy with the updates. The trigger pull reminded me of the trigger pull of outta the box Smith when the hammer is held before release as u get back on target.
    Thanks

When it comes to self protection and firearms, quantity isn't as important as quality. With that being said, these guns are quality enough to be a front line protection. As long as it's quality I guess it simply comes down to personal preference and budget. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

I have to admit I am a bit of a Taurus fan I have 6 in my collection , 7 if you count my Barkeep since Taurus now owns Heritage. My G2C is my primary EDC and my TCP is my pocket backup. My G3 is my bedside. I love all of my Taurus pistols and they are all accurate, reliable and eat everything I feed them. The G2C trigger is not as bad as you are making out. I have a CZ, a S&W M&P and some Ruger's and my Taurus pistols out shoots them all. Thanks for the video.

    1. The manual safety is because of import regulations. They make a G3c model without the safety that is manufactured in Georgia. It's a little hard to find because it came out this year.
    2. The G3c comes with three magazines. That's important for CCW, so you can practice with two and carry one.
    3. If you search around online for the G3c, you can find it as low as $225. Rural King, KyGunCo, and Sportsman's Warehouse all have great pricing.
    4. Taurus also sells the GX4 microcompact for about the same price.

Great information James. We did forget to mention the difference in the number of magazines offered so thanks for reminding us. Also great info on the import! There are a ton of sales right now and the lowest is right around 220 which is great! We always offer msrp for 2 reasons. First when you find it lower, it seems like an even better deal. Second, we never know how long the sales will last. ALL great information James so thanks for contributing, commenting and for watching the video.

@@mwmag Taurus is expanding their manufacturing capacity in the US after moving to Georgia. They only need to complete the final stage of manufacturing here, so it's easy to scale up. The entire G3-Series with and without a safety should be easy to find soon. Taurus is slow about rolling out obvious updates though. They will probably wait until next year to release the G3c in 40 SW and the OR G3c with the SS slide.

And replaced parts in the frame. Not locking up and absolutely choking on 147 gr hp anymore or others. But still has a funny locking up in the slide. But is functioning. I do like these

    G3C
    Metal controls
    Metal Sights (Glock format)
    More comfortable trigger (safety lever)
    Better trigger pull and reset
    3 Magazines
G3C SR - Same pistol with no manual safety.
Local prices vary but the G3C is only $15 more than the G2C locally, I'm not going to repeat the local price out of respect to the original content creator (not sure if they are a dealer). It's worth that just for the extra magazine.

So far it's a great deal for training. We get 1000 rounds under $300. But don't go cheap for your self defense ammo. Make the investment - your life is valuable. I keep a few mags loaded at home with the "great stuff" and keep my range mags separate so I know when I need quality, I know right where to go.
