- No complicated technologies this week (again). Just files, patience and creativity- all I had with me. (Of course, there were some other minor equipment, but most of work is done by file). It’s my another balcony project. Brutal men’s ring. I know you like my jewelry.
Thank you for your feedback and see you next week!

I left the threads in mine so the ring will stay on my finger more securely. I twist the ring onto my finger and then torque it to 30 inch-pounds.

Your name says a lot about this comment... lol... Coolioso!!!

Add Loctite or no?
This man is definitely a tool and die maker, my father also made beautiful pieces of jewelry for us and my Mom, he was also created our front door out of metalwork flowers everyone that sees it loves it, plus he was a painter, he was so multi-talented it was amazing! He created a huge swing set and slide for us outside...he did so.much for us...downstairs he made us an amazing playroom. We had a magical life thanks to my Dad and my Mom was the chef of the house. Dad was the creator and Mom was the nurturer. I would gladly live this life over with them again!.
OMG I WAS NOT EXPECTING TEMPER COLORS!!
THAT WAS GORGEOUS!!!
Color turn out perfect 👍🏻
Amazing work. Beautiful ring. It just goes to show you what a human being can create with some thought and patience.........anything, even peace.
Great CZcams illustration of how to turn a bolt into a lovely ring. If I start doing this sort of thing now, with little or no experience, and work at it every single day, by the time I'm approaching being a centenarian, I should be absolutely 'Ace' !!!
Currently working at my first attempt. I've never done handcrafted anything before, but I'm making a ring to propose to my woman with. If it comes from my own hands, my own heart, I know I'll eventually get it right and make my woman's engagement ring
The perfect quarantine hobby.
Great work of art.
Well done .
Old scool pride and craftsmanship
damn. the amount of patience, concentration and dedication needed to make a ring that way... absolutely amazing!
I was thinking it would take a long time with a belt sander and a Dremel tool
It doesn’t actually take that much time provided you have decent tools ie relatively good files for example. Made one of these in a day at work (engineering apprentice) with a day being about 6h30 give or take 10 mins
I would have heated up the nut to soften any heat tempering, this man is hand filing high carbon steel like a boss
Facts I was thinking the same thing
It doesn't look heat treated or high carbon.
You should try the Dyechem layout fluid that machinist's use it comes in red and blue and doesn't rub off with your fingers. Perfect for what you did here! Awesome job too!!!
Classic talent. Hats off to you. God bless you. 😊
Gracias por mostrar tu trabajo y sigue manteniendote.
This guy wasnt using stainless steel, its absolute torture working with that steel, its a real test of patience and skill.
I'm making a thing out of stainless steel rn and dear god it sucks ass
@@jeffreysteelman8583 use power tools my guy, or use a leath or drill press
@@unidentifiedleiviathan7250 let me see how much a drill press cost
@@jeffreysteelman8583 you can make a leath and save 300$. But you need to go to trade school to learn that
This was totally bad ass man, really enjoyed seeing what some inginuity, patience, and alot of craftsmanship can produce. Very Very cool indeed .
Patience is a virtue and one you must harness.Outstanding skillz my friend
Superbe réalisation Great !!!! Merci pour le partage
That's crazy! Ur a legend
my god you've got a lot of patience, having said that, beautiful work.
The manliest ring I've ever seen.
Magnifique. Monsieur, vous étes un artiste. Bravo👍
Belíssimo trabalho, digno da realeza. Uma peça de desejo! Muito obrigado pelo vídeo, pois nos inspira. Like!
My grandfather was a goldensmith back in the 40's, I'm sure he'd love to see people still using files and hand tools today.
Wow, props to your grandfather
My grandfather’s was to
I'm sure your father had
the sense to just make
a casting if he wanted
to make a ring like this.
It's a lot faster.
@@reneeharold7335 Possibly, yes. Never had the chance to see him working, but I'm sure filing was a big part of the job too.

You are a TRUE ARTIST !
Love the art, love the music! Very peaceful!
Amazing! I find so many giant nuts and bolts metal detecting! I didn’t realize you could turn such a thorn into something so cool. Cricket
Love it. I really need to try this
Beautyfull !! Thank you for showing to us .. a door of Dreams fairy ⭐⭐⭐⭐❣
Homeboy has patience. Bravo for your use of hand tools. ✊🏻🖤
Oh my goodness, how beautiful is that ring?
Je suis bluffé, quand on voit avec le peu de moyen, super génial très beau travail fait avec finesse bravo
Now that is awezome! Beautiful!
So simple but so beautiful, very nice!

Wow that’s a lot of work, really good job
I love the way the heat affects the color of the steel. Very cool.

Wow! Beautifully done!
By hand too! Just wow!
Wow top demais..🤘🤘
Many people ask us jewelers why we spend so much time making stuff. The reason is we wouldn't spend our time any other way. Its called passion.
Well said, some people call it work. But it is allowing your mind and hands to be free in passion to be creative and work has no place.
Beautifully done! So creative!
If I didn't see it I wouldn't believe it. Pretty freaking cool. You have skills. And you make beautiful rings. Keep up the good work. And have a nice days.
Amazing great job! Although I can't say I've ever been able to file something so fast that I need to cool it off in water 😂

Now that is so nice. Hand tools that actually means hand tools. Often some people will sneak in an angle grinder and then they have lost me!
Funny I came to comment about the use of a power drill ;)
I was begging for him to just get a grinder already!
Amazing , and good job 👏
The craftsmanship is exquisite.
Girlfriend: Omg this ring is so cute! Where did you get it from?
The guy: I made it myself

"Using only hand tools"
*Pulls out electric drill*
"Pay no attention to the drill"
The drill at 5:14 and the torch at 9:47 definitely were detractions from an otherwise remarkably impressive feat. Having said that, the drill and the torch were both tools operated by hand, so an argument could be made that they are technically "hand tools" (just not using the traditional definition of that term).
@@nomore6167 I mean, I guess you could use a manual drill, but I'd say people are more likely to own an electric drill than they are to own a manual drill in this day and age 😅
The torch is necessary to get the colouration in the metal, there's not really anything you can do differently there...
@@andrewspencer1212 I completely agree. I pointed that out only because of the video's title -- "Turned a Hex Nut into BEAUTIFUL Ring- Using *Only* Hand Tools". The title should have been something more like "...Using MOSTLY Hand Tools". Regardless, it's remarkable what can be done when you have imagination and skill.
I doubt that I've ever even met anyone who has ever worked so hard on something. Holy smokes that's clean hand filing, I can't even fathom the hours.

we used to make rings like this out of nuts on my ship when we were deployed using nothing but jewelers files , great way to pass time in the chow line but this is next level
Oh wow
Oh Wow Are you In navy? Or smthing else I want to. Know.
Amazing. You make it look easy, but thats a hell of a lot of elbow grease that a video cant put across. Either way, I'd be all over trying this out, wish I had the hand tools and space I used to
QUE GRAN PACIENCIA Y HABILIDADES DE ESTA PERSONA MI RESPETO
Fantastic dedication, patience and time.
Awesome work, how do you plant to combat the oxidizing from sweat ?
I recommend an clear epoxy coating.
It's what I use .
Some use clear nail polish but it has to be replaced every so often
I use two part clear epoxy , brush on lightly and let cure.
I’d make my ring out of stainless steel. I have a SS ring I’ve been wearing for twenty years or so and no signs of corrosion.
@@clasic36 wouldn’t SS be much harder to work and possibly trash the files before completion? I know it ruins saw blades that otherwise do well with regular steel.
holy shit you made this seem so easy Im gonna try it myself rn bro

How many days did it take u to complete this project
it's a great ring I've ever seen and also made from nut too. but I have one question, "it will get rust?" please kindly answer my question, because once I made some ring from nut, these all get rust 😭. thank you for your respond. greetings!
Yep that’s the way of steel! There is stuff you can do to help it not rust though ! There’s waxes and some polishes will help prevent rust, there’s also this stuff called penetrating oil that works really well for steel tools though I’m not sure how it well it would work for jewelry. I made some forged chasing tools and it put it on them after having them rust every time I set them down at night and came back to work the next day, and after that I didn’t have a single problem with them until they had to sit for a few months in a humid studio !
Seu trabalho é incrível ..
... good design, good craftsmanship
2yrs from now: turned a hex knot into a beautiful ring...
it looks a ring for the Diablo.
Amazing 👍
This is the art, very nice.
Ahh the tools you can buy and the time you have when you're on welfare.
And... I know what I'm going to do tomorrow 😉
did you get that ring did yet /???????????????
Awesome job, I've made some rings froms nuts and I know the pain of the process. I live the design. I might have to try it out. What is the stone you used?

looks like a green tourmaline
I luv the way u did that it was amazing 😍 I would love to have one done
Amazing Stuff love it
For future reference, files only cut material on the push stroke. By going back and forth with equal pressure, you're only dulling your files. Only apply pressure on the push stroke, let up, then push and repeat. It will keep your files sharper in the long run and reduce scratches on the material caused by metal chips getting dragged across the face of your material on the pull stroke.
Indeed. The same with a hacksaw btw.
My thoughts were: "Well, someone got impatient".
There are two schools of thought on this.
Ive seen evidence that this is complete bullshit.
I honestly love these. They're a great metaphor for marriage. 🤔
A seemingly beautiful & expensive little trinket ......that will rust & disintegrate into nothingness at the slightest touch of imperfect conditions. 😆...
Yep
You use some awfully cheap materials it seems.
@@ryuudrazyl4588 that ring was steel and the stone was glued in. While skillful, that ring will require extra care that @joey dubbs76 pointed out. Nothing awfully cheap, but true nonetheless
Unless it's a stainless nut 🤷
@@alexbaldwin1267 not with the heat of grinding, that will have changed the surface carbon content it is now prone to rusting. Though frequent wear should oil it enough
Really so COOL.
Das ist wirklich ein Kunststück echt klasse respekt
Not bad. My husband did something similar for my engagement ring a couple years ago. He doesn't use power tools though.
Kes lan
My husband could beat up your husband
One of the rare occasions on CZcams when "using only hand tools" doesn't mean "power tools". Apart from the drill, but we can let that slide.
The torch too.
And blowtorch. Its click bait.
@@eternapesadilla2355 blowtorch is optional the ring would still look good silver with the stone. But still the drill isn't optional.
@@eternapesadilla2355 it's not click bait, you can use your stove flame to do the job, it's not soldering.
@@eternapesadilla2355 A blow torch isn't technically a power tool, since it doesn't take electricity to run.
Nice skill, its very appreciating for those subscribers
