This episode is special for various reasons. First of all, this is detailed discussion about various subject matters that Mufti Sb. can talk about with adequate knowledge and research. Other than that, this discussion proves that whatever image of Mufti Sb. we see usually on social media through memes is just tip of the iceberg. With those jokes and clips prevailing, majority of population considers that he doesn't know anything other than supporting polygamy in society.
After some informal discussion we got into details about Mufti Sb.'s educational and family background and the expertise he has in different subjects. We also discussed about the business and working experience he has had till date. Mufti Sb. has a strong opinion on habit of reading books and research in order to make sense of what's going on in the world not demeaning the use of social media at all. Mufti Sb. has explained the importance of freelancing and gig economy tracing it back to initial days of freelancing when internet started booming.
We discussed the cryptocurrency and its status in the national context at present and that led to discussion about money making mindset in our society. We discussed the differences between employee and entrepreneurial mindset as the economic pressures have been pushing individuals beyond normality. I asked different questions on behalf of many inputs I got before the session and those include concern about charity and knowing whom to benefit from charity.
We had a word about political extremism prevalent in our society at present and has grown by leaps and bounds for last many decades. Stress and anxiety issues were discussed in detail with reference to societal pressures that led to belief in superstitions and mental health problems. Suicidal tendencies were part of the discussion as well due to increasing levels of social unrest. It was important to have a discussion upon sex education and martial relationship issues. We also highlighted early age marriages and parental interference in personal matters of couples. Last part of the discussion was based on values and requirements for healthy relationships.

بہت اچھی پوڈ کاسٹ ہے. مفتی صاحب کا علم بہت وسیع ہے ماشاء اللہ. لیکن آپ کے بیٹھنے کا طریقہ نامناسب لگا. آپکی نیت پر شک نہیں آپ واقعی ان سے عقیدت اور محبت رکھتے ہوں گے لیکن علماء کرام کے سامنے ادب اور عاجزی سے بیٹھنا زیادہ مناسب ہے. مفتی صاحب بڑے آدمی ہیں اس لیے انہیں شاید اعتراض نہ ہو. لیکن آپ کو خیال رکھنا چاہیے تھا. یہ تنقید برائے تنقید نہیں ہے تنقید برائے اصلاح ہے.

_MashAllah!_ An informative, well rounded, balanced, and crucial podcast, we need a part two.
However something I wanted to highlight which is necessary, the age of puberty/Maturity or marriage ready is not 18, the age 18 is a liberal, feminist construct which has no reality in _Islam_. In _Islam_ a girl or boy can get married as young as 8 or 13 depending on the puberty cycle and mental maturity. Mufti married his daughter at 13 years old. You can get married as young as 10 or 13. The sexual energy starts to develop early for the female and a little later for men. Part of mental maturity is having a healthy sexual relation with your spouse.
The _Aurat March_ nonsense of equality and 18+ age of consent is moronic and absolute rubbish.

@@Maria-fk2it There are many factors to highlight, the _Wali_ (Father/guardian) of the girl will decide based on the interests.
The part of the problem is why don't people know who there are at 13? Do 13 year old's masturbate? Do they watch po*n? Do they talk about the opposite sex? Can they understand complex things? If the answer is "Yes", then they can handle a marriage, part of "knowing" yourself is having a healthy sexual relationship ( _Halal_ ) with a spouse (Some give or take).
A lot of "adult" are dealing with Peter Pan syndrome. They don't know who they are at 35.

@@Fitellect I'm glad you asked. 1) he very casually has dismissed a woman's 'equality' by stating that a woman must accept that he is the head of the household. saying that instantly disregards the notion of women and men being equal in islam. 2) He again casually endorses, propagates polygamy where a woman MUST understand that a her husband will spend 1 night with her the next with another and so on & so forth. This setup leads to only a woman adjusting to the concept of sharing her man and comply to it while a man goes through no such emotions. Would a man accept if his wife had multiple husbands and spent different nights with each? I guess not! therefore again relegating a woman to less than human and not an equal in regards to a man because why is she expected to go through the emotion of pain of sharing when a man cant. 3) That she will then be satisfied if such an SOP is established earlier on itself because well thats how it is and the woman must go along with it. 4) Knowing fully well that the woman/first wife may be pained by this decision of bringing another wife, the man seems to go ahead despite that. then whats the point of knowing youre the one causing her pain & distress and then claiming you love and respect her only to make her settle with it for YOUR own pleasure because like he said intent can be good or bad. 5) by claiming that there are many widows/divorcees/single women in waiting to be wedded, is a gross assumption that all women want to marry and procreate and if educated well, will not want to fend for themselves. Instead he could say that women should be educated and working/self dependent enough that such a situation does not arise where the sole purpose of their life is marriage and so much so that they're willing to marry an already married man. 6) Most civil societies have polygamy criminalised because men misuse it and it treat women unfairly. Most men arent going to be just with this system. Most cultures propagating polygamy like NDLS, mormons, islam and certain hindu tribes have severe cases of under age marriage, assault, forced marriage, abandonment. 7) The system is curated for men and to sustain a man's desire to have more than one while legalising his right to do so. atleast in gf\bf, regular marriages if a man or woman cheat, they have a choice to stay/ leave/divorce and not wrap it in the guise of polygamy.The yuckk was for this cleric who glorified this legalised adultery & infliction of pain on his own wife as some sort of social work. Sure such practices took place in the times of muhammad, pandavs, krishnas & christ but we're in the 21st century now with women with education and careers which wasnt the case then. times have changed a long time ago and practicing and loudly spreading the ills of the society is shameful when an alternative is available. he might as well fight with swords, not use a car, go on crusades. Religions/cultures are old and must change with times. You best believe we dont live in 630 AD
