When the lower arch is observed from the side, it can be noted that the lower plane of occlusion is not flat, but rather curved. Also known as a steep curve of Spee.
As an orthodontist, I have to explain this concept almost daily. This is phenomenal: clearly articulated and well-animated. It's not rocket science, but teaching patients with no dental background is challenging. This will be such a great tool. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video.
I can honestly say this on behalf of most patients, thank you for explaining, most orthos don't even bother, I basically found myself with bite turbos and had to research this on my own, hence why I'm on this video.
can't this be done using removable retainers ?! what type is it ? my braces should be removed soon but i am experiencing issues and i don't know what to expect ! some of my lower teeth are too high and my left side jaw isn't closing like the right one i.e left bite a bit higher than the right. if you can tell me what to expect and is this retainer that will fix these issues will be the one and only ! i.e can or will wear it for the rest of my life when i go to sleep like some doctor says ? or i will be assigned with different removable retainer when it is perfectly or near perfectly aligned ?
A lot of thanks sir for a such good video, i wonderen if this procedure can be followed with case of osteotome (BSSO), is making the curve of spee deep before the surgical operation favorable?
Yes u can do it in short lower facial height patients. As u bring the mandible forward with bsso Ur bite will correct and also face height will increase
