  • Welcome back! Today's soap making video is an inspire. I used Bramble Berry titanium dioxide and Nurture Soap Mica for color. I used Wholesale Supplies Plus fragrance oil (watermelon mania). I decided watermelon soap would be great this time of year since we are coming in to summer. Plus I had this idea swimming around in my head. The poppy seeds have to be added separate from the main body of the soap in order for them to stay suspended unless you are using suspension soap. I prefer fewer ingredients in my soap and I love the random way the seeds disperse. I hope this soap making video inspires you to even better ideas! Happy soaping great soapers!

    hola!!!! Primero, felicitaciones!!!! Y luego, dos preguntas; en qué disuelves tu la mica? Y cuál es la temperatura ideal para la glicerina? Gracias!!!!

    I love all of your Vids. When It comes to soap designs, Im a newbie. Is it best to use glycerin soaps when swirling? I wanna continue to practice until I get it right. Thanks

      Most of my swirl methods are for glycerin bases. However, there are some cold process methods as well. Cold process is great for swirling. Virtually no problems as long as you have a good recipe. I love Susan Miller Cavitch’s book “The Natural Soap Book” for learning the basics of cold process. She also has some great recipes. I will be posting another method for beginner cold process soon. Thank you so much for the feedback! 🥰🥰🥰

    I love your videos. Thank you! Do you mix all your mica head of time and have it liquid for your use when making soap? If so, what do you mix it with?

      @OakleafandOcotillo  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Pamela! I premix with glycerin, but only for M&P. If I am making cold process I mix with oil right before I stick blend.

    Greetings! Found you through the Fall Collab. So fun to watch you create. Your soaps are beautiful. Do you make your own base soap? Blessings to you. ~Lauren

      Hi Lauren! No, I don’t as of yet. I use Bramble Berry, but it works with all M&P soap bases.

    • @OakleafandOcotillo
      @OakleafandOcotillo  Před rokem

      I use a 52 oz. mold so each bar is around 5 -6 ounce’s depending on how many you cut.

      Most of my videos are for inspiration. When I make one for learning I include the recipe. Usually I include recipes for cold process tutorials. Thank you for your input.

      I do 52 oz. Loaves. Each larger layer is approximately 16 ounces with the remaining 6 ounces left for the green. I just eyeball the poppyseeds. Hope this helps.
