My girlfriend works at Union Chapel as a sound engineer! I must get this, then! :D
She's a keeper, then
Outstanding!
Paul, you couldn't resist to the temptation to play Widor ! But never a midi player will be an organist which are very special musicians. They are priests. The piece you choosed needs unbelievable dexterity of hands AND FEET. Only Liene Andreta Kalnciema is able to play this piece. As we're saying in France, musicians translate the feelings, the emotions of the composer they're playing. It's the verb " interpréter". And this woman is the only one in the world able to play this entire piece of music with so much strength and softness. The video she made on CZcams is for me A MASTERPIECE.
And tell me, the sampled instrument is made to play YOUR music, not other's ! You can also choose to be inspired by the wonderful and incredible "Judas Iscariot" composed for church organ, choir, piano, drums and a synthesizer by Rick Wakeman to do YOUR music.
Paul love to see the video of this being recorded in the Church
This is the best sampled pipe organ library I've ever heard. I used to collect Classical Organ music on vinyl. This has far deeper low frequencies than any of my 150 albums! Vinyl couldn't reproduce such lows... the needle would have jumped out of the groove! It's at the top of my wish list!
If you like this one, check out the Hauptwerk software. It's on a WHOLE new level up from this, and this Spitfire library is the best sounding Kontakt organ library in the world right now, so that's saying something.
I agree that the Hauptwerk software is as good as you can get. It's amazing. I put it in my CZcams software instruments playlist near the top. Both are near the top of my wish list. I like both equally. The Union Chapel has deeper lows. I've heard it used in another musician's CZcams channel and I couldn't believe that such low frequencies were coming out of my speakers. This demo doesn't show this.
which instrument is best for an interstellar style of organ?
@@karlhans6678 ask to hans
@@karlhans6678 This one - listen to the demo songs on the website...there is an interstellar type song and it sounds very similar.
Is there no swell feature for the swell manual?
But: Do I really need the KONTAKT-app to play this, or is it enought with the spitfire Audio App?
Hello why this instrument is show as files and not within libraries ?
The natural releases of the pipes can't be heard, so as solo instrument it sounds electronic to me with those smooth tails. Also "crunch" is unfamiliar to me as a description of organ tone.
Very interessting Organ Plug-In maybe an alternative to "Hauptwerk" .. *mhh* ...
I was thinking that too, I just purchased it moments ago. Hauptwerk takes a lot of work to get recordings, best workflow is to create Pre-set project templates.
I may re-edit this comment to add my thoughts/review on the VST.
I was just thinking that as well. Have you tried Union Chapel and would you say its comparable?
Hey Adam, great question. Few differences. It's comparable.
Hauptwerk has a heftier system, it runs off it's own program, and runs off a dual plugin to your DAW.
Union Organ Chapel just runs off Kontakt as a VST.
Hauptwerk has a constant running fan (realistic to what you'll hear if you're recording a real organ)
UOC doesn't have this, but you may hear it during the notes played, not in the silence.
Hauptwerk has a crazy amount of Organs, recorded in their own cathedral, with amazing reverb.
UOC has One Organ, with an amazing amount of mic positions.
I don't know Organs too well, but the starter on Hauptwerk, you can check out the free trial. Gives you one free Organ to mess with. And it's absolutely great. But, I bought the Union Organ Chapel even after the fact... Because the workflow is just easier with VSTs.
Maybe if I had more processing cores on my computer, I'd think about using Hauptwerk.
Hope this helps!
God bless you!
thanks for the in depth response Samuel! Greatly appreciate it! I will definitely look into playing around with the trial for Haupterk but yeah UOC does seem to be nicer just cause it doesn't require a lot of setup.
you got it brotha!
I'm with you on that- digging the individual sections on the UOC (Choir Manual, Great Manual, Pedals, Swell) genius move.
A chapel organ should sound like a chapel organ. This differs to Symphonic organ because symphonic organ is probably huge Cathedral organ
Hm, to my ears it sill not sounds as good as Hauptwerk Organ. But its cheaper alternative and best for Kontakt so far.
This or symphonic organ?
I would suggest this. You get the flexibility of choosing your own registrations.
