Tales of Symphonia: Team Sylvarant vs. Team Tethe'alla

- Kratos is originally a Tethe'allan knight so he'll be representing Tethe'alla for this fight :p
With that said, it's been so long since I've played Colette in a party that I forgot that I can't spell-cancel much with other casters alive in the party since I get locked in spell-queue. I don't think my gameplay is particularly high quality here, but I thought this was the most entertaining take so I hope you enjoy :)
Game Modifications:
-Lots of stat modifications for my party
-Used advanced encounter edit from Sora3100's cheat table
-Unlocked all artes for my party members via Cheat Engine
Strategy:
Over 100% resistance to fire is definitely recommended for this fight, with how much Zelos and Kratos love to use Eruption. Light resistance would also be good since Judgment does so much damage (it's not consistently dodgeable outside of solos).
I start the fight with Genis using Indignation Judgment since I figure either Genis or Sheena will be the first to die... I gotta give him at least some time to shine.
Next, I try to make sure that Sheena and Regal go down before Kratos and Zelos inevitably wipe my party with Holy Binds. I let Raine use Fairy Circle if she goes into OVL, which usually extends my party's life span by quite a bit.
After all my party members go down, it's time to solo Zelos and Kratos. These guys are difficult to fight on their own without getting hit, so I don't have any fantasies about being able to get a clean run of these guys LOL. I want to make sure that I take out Kratos first, because Zelos still has Divine Judgment up his sleeve (dodging this can be difficult when Kratos is there to disrupt me). Windows to attack are generally if Zelos is casting or if I jump over both of them at the same time.

Thinking about how Genis and Raine were technically born in Tethe’alla so Lloyd and Colette were the only ones actually born in Sylvarant.
I think it would not be impossible for Horangi to pull this off. :D
Technically yes, however remember they were abandoned and spent most to all of their lives in Sylvarant, so it'd be logical they'd be on that side.
Somehow it all came down to the chosen ones....
Sheena going down first wasnt a huge suprise, but Genis casually Smacking Everyone with Indignation Judgement was godly 😂😂😂😂
yea her second bossfight is still really early so she has way less health than the other 3 lmao

The lemming AI in this game was the biggest barrier to my no deaths/gels challenge.

Good ol Spell Queue. My fav mechanic in Symphonia and Abyss... Regardless, interesting concept! Makes me wish Symphonia had an enemy entry for every party member like Dawn did.

Well... I think kratos should be on team Sylverant. He technically existed before the two worlds split so he's technically from both.

Actually, Raine and Genis are from Tethe'alla, so its just Lloyd and Colette vs everyone.
Although I would have done it at the coliseum with a little background with the character skits portraits to bring context like who’s better team sylvarant or tema tethe’alla? (I know I have a big imagination) 😅
That would have been fun haha. I just decided to use this arena cause I think it's a pretty neat and underused arena.
Wait, Colette can't even spell cancel if there's another spell in the cue?

Yeah, afaik Colette's angel spells are considered level 2 or 3 spells, but regardless Colette can barely spell cancel while Raine and Genis are both throwing out level 2/3 spells thanks to spell queue.
Kratos/Zelos and Sheena can spell cancel with no problem because Sheena's spells are all considered level 1 spells, except for her summons. Kratos/Zelos have level 1 spells to spell cancel with.
Edit: Forgot to mention that Regal's spells are level 1 too, meaning he can spell cancel just fine as well.

BTW, which of Colette's spells is best for grinding out uses to spell cancel with? I've been trying Holy Song because it does no damage, but a certain... accident keeps happening to ruin my progress. I guess Angel Feathers would be a decent option too (cheap on TP, relatively fast casting time, damage is peanuts compared to Judgement and Grand Cross...), but I actually plan to cast Judgement in the Singles Coliseum (Dragon Knight is a big boy that gets hit several times) and it would be efficient for a control set-up to have two uses for one button.
... Never mind. I just figured out how I'm going to do it. The Phantom Knight is immune to all elements, so I can spam angel spells against it all day. And between the Faerie Ring, Spirit Symbol/Turquoise, and Raine's Charge spell (yes, it might come into play), I shouldn't have to worry about running out of TP too fast.
@@DracoFlame67 when spell cancelling, that doesn't use the TP for the spell. Cancel with any spell as much as you want, your TP won't go down unless you let the spell completely finish casting.
@@nullsanxiety I wasn't asking about which spell is best for cancelling. I was asking which spell is the easiest to grind up to 999 uses so that I can cancel with it at all. TP consumption and casting time are important because faster/cheaper/weaker spells can be used more times per fight than slow/expensive/strong ones.

It's probably Angel Feather since you get that one the fastest and it has the least casting time and least TP costs

I use Cheat Engine on the PC version of Symphonia to make these fights. Sora3100's cheat table has an encounter editor in it. I think you can also do this on the GameCube version with codes but I'm not too sure about any other version of the game.

@@765Yea You have to download Cheat Engine in order to use the cheat table. It only works on the Steam/PC version so you're good there.
