I saw the original Dixie Hummingbirds with Ira Tucker and Willie Bobo (bass singer) in 1955 with Sam Cook and The Soul Stirrers. What a great program. The last time I saw them was this group in 1994. Carl Davis and Paul Owens were in the Swan Silvertones for many years. Carl replaced Claude Jeter in the Swan. They were all down to earth and easy to converse with before or after programs. The greatest combination was Ira Tucker and James Walker. God bless the souls of those who have gone on to be with Him.
