  • Paul Kimmage talking to Paul McGinley at Valhalla GC ahead of this week’s US PGA, the second major of the year.
It’s the second Major of the year, the USPGA championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louiseville, Kentucky. It’s a course with happy memories for Paul McGinley, who played his first PGA there in 2000.
It’s also 10 years since Rory McIlroy last won a Major - which also happened to be at Valhalla - and McGinley feels the world’s number two player has come into form at just the right time. He also says if he can get over the line this week there could be a lot more success in him.

David Walsh, Eamon Lynch, and Paul Kimmage come to the forefront - but there is something just completely unpleasant, over cynical, and negative with these three Irish journalists, in particular. To the point where it makes them look unbecoming and unprofessional as journalists, where one has to question their integrity to their profession.
Of course not all are like this, and nothing racist, but the poor attitudes of this trio do nothing good for the sports they have covered. Unless one really enjoys slash and burn, and the destruction of reputations. That seems to be their forte. They seem to enjoy destroying people. Golf and cycling and the other sports they cover will be in a better place when these three retire. And I’m
not talking Paul McGinley, Rory, and Padraig Harrington. They all are a pleasure to listen to and great for their sport.
