Larry Birds 1981 Finals move when he missed his own shot, got his rebound with his right hand on the baseline while he switched it to his left hand to shoot it while in mid air was a way better move and more difficult shot to make. That move/shot vs the Rockets hardly gets mentioned.

1. Pippen hounding Magic without fouling was so amazing to watch. Must have been so tiring on defense. 2. You can see the roots of the modern game with Paxson running straight to the three-point line on fast breaks. 3. Magic is so fun to watch even if he's near retirement. I had to rewind some of those assists because it was so quick and it came out of nowhere. 4. James Worthy is a great off-ball scorer. He gets so much of his points off catches. He rarely dominates the ball.
A spectacular move lol By Michael Jordan. The thing about that shot, is it came when the Bulls were on a huge run, hitting just shot after shot. Capped off by that shot, and there you go lol
NBC was probably screaming at Dunleavy to call a timeout after the insane layup by Jordan. You knew they were going to show that on replay about a dozen times.

As a Lakers fan I did enjoy 1st win Sam Perkins game winner,Magic it went back and forth then came this game and 3 more in LA I was like Holy Crap we're done, but Chicago Bulls earned it I dont want to hear excuses about James Worthy and Byron Scott they played in Games 1,2,3 and most of 4 before sitting out just one game 5.
James Worthy injury in Game 5 in the West Finals really hurt his mobility afterwards. One all star on your squad (Magic) trying to win a title is a very hard thing to do. If you see NBA winning teams, you'll see most have 2+ all stars on your squad. 3 is the most common one. Kobe and Jordan won 3 NBA titles with only 2 all stars on their squads.
When teams say that they lost game 1 because they were nervous it’s likely true. That is, if they come back and win the series in convincing fashion. That was 100% true in 91’. The Lakers were nearly blown out in 4 straight games, but one by 1 pt on a last second shot by Perkins in game 1. MJ and the Bulls franchise first ever trip the finals.
I was at both game 1 and game 2 at the Stadium (what a venue). Bulls were nervous. MJ was confident as they could have won the first game. I still think this was their strongest team. Grant, Jordan and Pippen were still relative pups…lots of speed and power.
Although the minority view, I believe the 1991 Bulls were better than the 1996 Bulls. Cartwright and Hodges were better than Rodman and Langley, and everyone else was younger, and BJ Armstrong an excellent shot
I also believe the 1991 team was the best Bulls team. They got off to a slow start in the regular season. They started 0-3, and I believe they were 12-8 at one point, but they dominated the 2nd half of the season, not just beating teams, but blowing them out. I was actually in attendance in Atlanta for the game against the Hawks in March of 1991. The Bulls won by 35 points. It was pure domination. And then in the playoffs, they went 15-2. Not just sweeping the Pistons, but dominating them in every game. The Pistons were never in that series.
@@mikeroagreschen5350It was easily the loudest in the league. I was on the main floor in 1975 when the Bulls had a chance to win against the Warriors and get to the finals. There was an 8 minute ovation where I could not hear myself think.

I know Orlando got swept in 95 but this was the most lopsided Finals of the entire 90s decade.
