What a sound! So glad that atleast once in my life I have witnessed these glorious V10 powered F1 cars, I still remember how insane the sound was. To this day I haven't heard anything as loud, most things don't even come close.

V12, V10, & V8 all sounded amazing. Their extremely high revving engines was the signature of those cars. We need extremely high revving engines again, I don’t care the amount of cylinders... make it happen F1. PLEASE!
The v6 turbos of the 80's sounded awesome too. Today's turbo engines are too quiet and muffled.

Looks good but I wish someone would just go out an beat that time; records are meant to be broken.
with the 2017 hamilton's car you can beat it, full power on the ERS engine, full power on the pedal and that high downforce with last technology suspension... easy to brake (the problem is the car wide in the "chicane"), but that 99' f1 car is amazing to watch :)
I just wish they were allowed to properly go for it in even vaguely modern F1 cars, Imagine the sorts of time this year's cars with Hypersofts could do. Unfortunately it's considered too dangerous
I wonder how the VW I.D. R would fair attempting to snatch this record. They could probably lose a good bit of battery weight, trim aero for the short run and run a super sticky compound.
Or maybe Porsche with the 919 Evo? That would sound better certainly.
